Wedding day jitters

I just got back from a munchie run to WalMart. Had to snag a few nibbles for The Wedding...an Event like this demands something a cut above peanut butter and crackers. So I got some veggie cream cheese and a small beef summer sausage and some marked-down Easter goodies. Nomnomnom ( Read more... )

Watched ABC stream via Yahoo. No sound - you see, I was at work with my bossette, the infernal last Friday of the month which means closed for students but going over stuff with the bossette.
Nevertheless, she wanted to see the wedding, too, so I pulled up the video stream and prayed that it would work in our work cmputers. It DID!
Two hours of peace and quiet with some rare comments about the hats. Yes, E and B were... *flails* E´s make-up was either running or she was going for a severe gothic look, whicever it was, she looked like a raccoon, honestly.
The dress was gorgeous. Since the quality of the stream was bad, I thought at first that the back WAS indeed corset like (with the all the talk of she losing weight and all) but later I saw the cute buttons in the back.
Oh, and my bossette made a comment that had me smothering laughter. Cameras show Sir Elton John singing, standing side by side with his husband. I say that vow, he is singing with his spouse. My bossette asks, SINCERELY, if that spouse was standing behind Elton (there was some lady with a pale blue hat). I bit my tongue and hummed non-committaly. If she does not know by now who Sir Elton is, who am I to say anything?

Hey, you got to see it AND you got paid for it. Sounds like a pretty good day at work to me! (Don't forget to document that it was her idea!)

E's make-up reminded me of Pru from Blade Runner, like she put it on with an airbrush. What a fright! I liked the blue-green color her sis was wearing, although the dress itself didn't particularly flatter.

LOL about Bossette's naivte. You've mentioned how staunchly anti-gay she is, so why am I not surprised she's oblivious?!

re: Elton John
*busts into giggles*

On a serious note, I don't know how often the kids saw him after Diana died (beyond charity events like the Prince's Trust(?) concert and such), but I remember how close he and Diana were. She practically held him together during Versace's funeral. I thought it was lovely for William to have invited him. Sir Elton seemed to be enjoying the moment -- and I think I saw him getting a bit misty-eyed at one point. *wibble*

And I love how he proudly wore the golden yellow vest with the violet tie. It suited him, since he can pull it off so well.
Yes, I remember how he was during Versace. His friendship with Diana was very very heartwarming.

The yellow and violet was nicely restrained, I thought. Given his penchant for glitter and spangles....
