Of bounty hunters and golfers...

Today I've read most of Evanovich's "Twelve Sharp", LMAO as usual, occasionally cussing when her canon clashes with what I've written and cheering when it matches. God, I love admire and respect her. She's brilliant. I can write funny, but she's got consistency and discipline that I'd sell my grandmother for. (G'ma's been dead since 1960. And I'm sure plots on Staten Island are going for good money these days.)

I've also been working on another FotP fic. Can't quite call this one a ficlet, as it's over a thousand words...twice the size of the first one. It's really another Ian-character-study. Some twerp on IMDb made a snarky comment about him having golf clubs during the party scene, which pissed me right off. I loved that bit. (I wish I could motion-cap it and turn it into an icon: I love watching Hugh Laurie swing a golf club. Which is damn near Oedipal, when I think about my Dad's favorite pasttime.)

Did Ian say, hmm, I'm going to be out in the middle of nowhere for a week or two, maybe I should bring my clubs along for a spot of practice? Or does he always lug a set of clubs with him? Or did they just happen to be lying around the cargo hold---maybe they belonged to the doctor who got offed in Act One---after all, doctors always play golf, don't they? *smirk*

Stay tuned!
