Cryptic blathering
Sometimes, it's useful to have friends with kids. Googling things like "childhood development milestones" is okay if you want to get an idea of when a kid might start walking, for example. But when it comes to specifics like, "Would a 2-year old still be in a highchair?"---that's when having a gal pal with maternal inclinations comes in handy. Yay, GK!
And means some rewriting, probably. Not to mention, I looked up some dates, and discovered that if I go with canon dates, I've already shot myself in the foot. Either I bend reality, or I scrap the scene entirely, rewrite some more, and take Nurture vs. Nature in another direction. Which might work...bleh.
On the other hand... *grrr*
I was operating under the impression that Jo fell between Dean and Sam in age, and I've discovered to my chagrin that she's younger than Sam by not quite six months. (At least, the actress is.) Which buggers things up nicely, thanks. Although considering how fast and loose I'm playing with canon already, fudging that detail a bit is a minor inconsistancy.
