Happily productive Sunday

Had a delightful time at church today...saw the C's for the first time in almost a month. We (AI and I) did a craft project afterward (Mardi Gras hats/collages) and got to schmooze. Told her about the Camaro, and was gratified when her first response was, "Oh, I hate you!", which intensified after I told her it was a Z28 with a moon roof. She's a closet bowtie fan, who knew?

I ran home to change before the art project, since Mod Podge and winter white don't mix. (Winter white top and pants, under my tropical chenille poncho, long scarf and white hat with flower. Vivid and cute.) Came back in my black denim overalls and a black and cream checked shirt that I've had for several years and never had the right thing to wear it with til now. Swapped the square pink pigskin for my munchbox with craft stuff in it, and traded leopard-print flats for sneakers and the soft wool hat with the felt flower for a black leather cap. Yes, I can definitely do wardrobe 180s!

As we sat there snipping and pasting, I brought up the topic of another clothes swap with AI, since the individual who was so disruptive at the last one** hasn't been back since. So far, we've done it twice after church---everybody brings in their closet orphans, we go around the circle item by item and see if anyone's interested, and the leftovers are donated to a local youth shelter. When we do it again, I'm going to post a heads up on fatshionista, since otherwise, it tends to be me and a roomful of sizes 10-16. So that'll probably be in the works soon, too....

** She grabbed a bunch of stuff, whether it fit her or not, and we found out she was selling it on eBay. Not that there's anything wrong with eBay, but the idea was to exchange things we couldn't wear for things we could, and donate the rest.
