Product training

Yesterday, we had a visit from the reps from Trendicrap, complete with racks and racks of clothes. (I now know what an XS looks like. It wouldn't fit one of my thighs.) We were schooled on the latest trends: the yacht club look (lots of stripes), retro (neon colors, lace, big chunky accessories), loose-fitting/baggy, layering, and some carry-over of military-inspired themes with camo and olive drab.

Unfortunately, I was in the last group of the day, and they were in a hurry to pack up and get out, so I didn't get a chance to inspect things as closely as I would've liked. Although, from what I did see, the quality is a bit better than I expected.

What really bit my ass was the stuffed animals. Over the holidays, they had a promotion wherein you got a cute little stuffed animal with your purchase of over $100. (While supplies last, said the fine print.) There weren't nearly enough stuffed animals to go around, and I spent most of December and a couple weeks of January fielding calls from pissed off customers asking why they didn't get their cuddly critter. Somehow, though, Trendicrap managed to find enough of these cute little aminals to give each of us one.

To which I can only say, yes, it's adorable, but it would've made my life a lot easier if they'd taken those three dozen or so plush toys and sent them to the customers who were expecting them. You want to do something nice for us? Give us gift cards---I may not be able to fit any of the clothes, but the accessories are fun.

That said, it's living on my bed next to my stuffed polar bear. Whatever!
