When I was in high school the only girl who was into the same music as me (and not so coincidentally my first crush) said to me, "You know what, one of these days you're going to end up a Sonic Youth fan." I was never quite sure if she meant it as a compliment or a warning.
The point is that I now own a copy of Metal Machine Music. With my twin musical loves of feedback and Lou Reed it was obvious I was going to end up here some day. And no, in the interests of total honesty, I haven't got around to listening to the whole thing but I will. More importantly, I know I can.
