Difficulty: Medium -have to have a rough idea of what pics will look best with the tut.
Program: Photoshop CS
Steps: 9
Translatable: No. Uses selective color
PSD: Yep!
Works best with images that don't have much yellow or that the background isn't red or magenta. It looks really nice with images that have blue or green and that have bits of already vibrant-ish magenta or red. (such as lip stick or... hair. XD)
1. Get an image. I'll be using this one of Takeru from SuG.
2. At the very end come back and duplicate your base and set it to screen or soft light. For this base I didn't need it but a lot of times the result looks sharper if you set the layer to soft light.
3. Layer>>New Adjustment Layer>>Channel Mixer:
Red: 140, -58, +36, -2
Green: +10, +88, 0, 0
Ooh! I actually like this result! xD (Yeh, im wierd.)
But we can do much better!
4. Layer>>New Adjustment Layer>>Levels:
Red: Input- 33/1.23/255 Output- 51/255
Green: Input- 25/1.34/248 Output- 0/236
Blue: Input- 22/1.43/255 Output- 12/255
I think we've pumped up the reds well enough! Lets tone them down a bit.
5. Layer>>New Adjustment Layer>>Selective Color:
Reds: +15/+20/-14/0
Yellows: 0/0/+38/-1
Whites: 0/0/+6/-8
Method: ABSOLUTE
6. Layer>>New Fill Layer>>Solid Color:
Fill it with #3D2B1E and set it to Difference %100
It's a bit too dull and dark now.
7. Layer>>New Adjustment>>Brightness/Contrast:
Brightness: +15 Contrast: +13
8. Layer>>New Adjustment Layer>>Selective Color:
Blacks: +18/+14/-12/+81
Method: RELATIVE
(the adjustment isn't that noticable here.)
9. Layer>>New Fill Layer>>Solid Color:
Fill with #89CEFA and set to Hard Light %15
AND YOU ARE DONE!
