It was a hot summer evening.
Kibum wasn’t sure how long he’s kept staring like that. Perhaps it began when Jonghyun came back home from his boring exercise rountine around their neighborhood, he had took off his shirt, out of breath, and sweat glisten all over his firm body. Jonghyun began to drink the water down from his bottle, he really looked like a giant puppy with that yellow messy hair. Before disappearing into the bathroom, Jonghyun generously gave Kibum one of his boyish smirk as a “I’m home” announcement.
Minutes later, Taemin, sleeping next to Kibum, suddenly squirmed and mumbled something in his dream that draw Kibum’s attention back to his already abandoned magazine. He called when there is the sound of shower turned on, “Hyung, I already cooked dinner.” He then threw the poor magazine to the corner of the room, lied down next to Taemin and stared at the rooftop.
That was the moment when Kibum realized his face was getting hot not because of the heat of the summer, and somehow he just forgot to breathe.

Kibum was blaming himself. He should have remembered not to sleep next to Taemin in the summer, because the maknae had a secret habit of squeezing everything that happened to be next to him in his sleep. Eventhough the air condition was on, the heat and that sticky feeling was still unbearable. “Gr…”, Kibum groaned, tried to move… but hell, who knew Taemin could be this strong. Well, fuck this, Kibum thought, I just need to bear with this until morning. Yes, he had been sleeping from dinner till then, no way he was going to give up his sleep just because of that cute little Taemin, definitely no way.
After a while, just when Kibum’s effort of trying to go to dreamland nearly succeeded, there was a giggle right next to him.
“Seriously?”, Kibum snapped his eyes open, raising his voice in his usual dramatic style.
“Sorry, sorry” there happened to be Jonghyun staring back at him, unable to cover his mouth.
“I didn’t mean to but this is too funny.” Kibum blushed, what the hell is funny here?
“You should see that expression of yours, just like some weird fish got stucked in Taemin’s trap.” Jonghyun bit his full lips to hold back his laugh.
“Stupid hyung, don’t just sit there laughing your ass off, you have to rescue me from this monster, he’s so gonna choke me to death, aishhhh.”
“Nah, you two just stay cute like that.” Jonghyun scratched his chin slightly and smiled a smile as if he was so enjoying the sight in front of him.
Oh right, Kibum already knew Jonghyun was a weirdo but he didn’t know that his hyung already reached this kind of highest level.
Stopping whatever he was doing, Jonghyun surprised Kibum by climbing into his and Taemin’s little cocoon of pillows.
“And what are you doing now?”
“Huh? Go to sleep. Suddenly you two uma and daughter make me all so sleepy.” Jonghyun lied down next to Kibum.
“Jesus, move!!! It’s already so hot in here.”
“I am always so cold so in a few minutes you will be all cool and comfortable.”
“God!!! I hate summer.” Kibum uselessly tried to push Jonghyun out but hey, Jonghyun didn’t do his boring exercise routine for nothing. Despite Kibum’s disapproval, Jonghyun easily squeezed him into his arm along with Taemin still sticking like glue on Kibum’s back. “Then, I’m gonna make you love summer.” Jonghyun victoriously smiled when he felt Kibum’s soft cheek touched his firm chest.
Kibum sighed, defeated. “I hate you, hyung.”
“Nah, you don’t.”
Oh right, Kibum really hated summer, not only because of the heat but it also made him light-headed.
But was it really because of summer?
