Forgive me, dear readers, this one post of frustration and angst.
The problem with buying a sleek, sexy new netbook is that when the puppy chews through the power cord, none of the $90 'universal' power adapters will work for it, so you're forced to order your cord through ebay, from some chap in Hong Kong, and it takes literally 3 weeks for the new cord to arrive, and in the mean time, all of your computing and internetting has to take place on Old Floppy, so named because the hinges for its screen have fallen apart and the monitor is hanging on by a single cable, which, when not propped up, will loll over like an unsupported newborn's head.
Also the dvd drive doesn't work.
Also the wireless card doesn't work outside of 15 feet from the router.
Also the 'start up to gmail' time is about 10 minutes.
