I have very little other news. We are still Halifax-apartmentless come August, which is pretty lame. I have, however, come to the realization that if we are only able to locate a September apartment, we technically have one here in Freddy until the end of August, and it's only really me who NEEDS to be in Halifax for August 14th. As such, I could potentially go live in the Backpacking hostel (described on the hostel website as being in "the bad part of town", but Miss Alanna assures me that her sister worked there, and it is not sketchy) for the two weeks in August, until Adam, my stuff, and hopefully, my cat, come to meet me in September. This, however, sucks as a plan also, because it puts all the moving duties on Adam and his dad, which makes me feel less than useful, and also irks my obsessive compulsive tendencies, as I won't be here to make sure everything that my head wants to get done gets done. Moreover, my first week at STU was a rather trying one, and it was because I was in a situation very similar to the one I'm planning to put myself into -- I only had a temporary residence room, so I couldn't settle in, and I had chosen to come to a university where I knew NOBODY. Obviously, I hope I have matured somewhat/formed better coping mechanisms, and would know the sitation was only temporary and Adam was on his way, but the idea of a retread still scares me immensely, as I'm already leery of change. [And while I'm more mature and have better coping mechanisms, loving Mr. Noble a whole bunch has unfortunately also made me more co-dependent].

So, yes.

Not much else is new. I've been promoted at Rogers to "Shift Leader" temporarily, which would be more impressive if we had more than seven staff, and the only remaining non-Shift Leader wasn't leaving. BUT I now make $8.10 an hour, which most likely looks unimpressive to many of your call-centre working asses, but is actually the most I have ever made work-wise.

Yesterday a guy returned his porno case sans disc. We had to call him.

I'm reading Watchmen; literate comics seem for the moment to be the necessary cure to my summer of being burnt-out and avoiding reading, as I don't feel like I'm wasting time while reading it, but at the same time, there's a lot less line re-reading.

My sister leaves for Boston and England tomorrow to attend various writing workshops and sight-see, the prize for the writing contest in the states that she won because she's awesome.
