Hmong New Year Beauty Pageant 06/07
I went to the Minneapolis Hmong New Year 06/07 (on Dec. 24-25 2007) and watched the beauty pageant. i thought they did a fairly good job of running the pageant. also i thought the judging was pretty fair.
well that's my opinion of it because i felt that Nkauj Hnub Vue (from China) and Angel Xiong (from Chicago) were the better looking ones overall so i expected one of them to win. Angel Xiong was very pretty in American clothes and Nkauj Hnub Vue was very pretty in Hmong clothes so it was kind of a tie. In the end Hnub had a better answer for her question so maybe that was the tie breaker.
Oh sorry I didn't pay much attention to the Prince Charming competition. The guys were not bad looking at all though, from what i saw. what do you guys think about Prince Charming Competition.
I didn't go to the St. Paul New Year so i don't know how the judging was or how the contestants were for that beauty pageant. any thoughts?
Another thing, i heard that Angel Xiong and Nkauj Hnub Vue are married. I don't know whether that's true or not but i was a little surprised. a month or so only after the pageant.
i remember back in the day (90s) i always hear people say the ugly girls are the ones that are in the beauty pageants or that it's the bad girls that are in the beauty pageant. now tho i think people don't say that (as much if ever). i guess times change and people change.
