(i know you thought i was an english major for the big big cash reward at the end of the degree plan). i wouldn't want to be a doctor, ever, anytime, but if you do . . . well, no one can argue that it's not a high calling. there isn't much creativity to it inherently, but the people work-- helping out, hanging out, making people feel good-- that you'd be really good at. and it's something needed, something important. your rtfdom, though, would seem to bring out a part that's more uniquely you. and your prospects are not actually probably so bad. it is -radio-television-film- . . . there's an insane amount of ground covered there. all hollywood aside, tv scriptwriting especially's pretty transparent to my knowledge, and employs a lot of people, and if you say they're all more talented and whatever than you are i will kick you. it's hard work either way, but seems pretty worth it and i do think you can make it in either profession. i guess you have to figure out what part of yourself you want to spend your career life focusing on . . . where will you feel more fulfilled? the hardest part about this living your dreams business is picking which dream to live. time constraints, i guess. but you don't have to decide finally ever . . . you of all people should know you're never quite grown up all the way. it's a process that ends in death. and we'll all make our ways somehow. think about it, plan it out, try your hardest, and leave a little wiggle room for surprises. honestly, if i could tell you where anyone, especially me, was going to be in ten years? commence crises in t+5.
if you want to discuss this around in circles to exhaustion, though, there's a dormful of people with the whole weekend among them, and i have a lot of . . . experience . . . with this sort of thing. good luck, kiddo.
