Lazy Sunday

May 08, 2011 19:14

After a crazy busy busy Saturday - voting for my next member of parliament, a birthday party, picnic at fort canning which watchin Macbeth, catching the elections results - a lazy Sunday was exactly what I needed.

Chocolate buttercream cake with chocolate rice!

Big crispy samosas

Rumballs, custard puff, pandan cake

A quick jaunt to Sunset Way, to a bakery I've loved as a kid kickstarted the Sunday (at 4pm) heh.

These quaint bakeries are far and few in Singapore. There are no fancy opera cakes, macaroons etc. Instead, artery clogging cakes topped generously with buttercream is their speciality. No to mention, deep fried samosas with a generous filling of chicken and potatoes. Fried to a crispy golden brown.

It has been ages since I've visited this bakery and I kinda went overboard. And my greedy tummy ruled my sensible brain. Oh well... Moderation has never been my strength.

Need to cool down!

The weather is really warm, humid 37C... So off to Picotin for a cool beer and a nice dinner to wrap up a lazy Sunday.

Only problem is I'm still too full for dinner!
