overall, it's been a pretty great weekend. on friday we had the first session of the Emmaus retreat. from what everyone said, the small group Bible studies are going really well. better than even i expected, but that's definitely because it's not some plan that we just put together, i think it's each individual person being called. i'm so excited about it! this afternoon is the second session of the retreat, so i'm really looking forward to meeting all the other facilitators. it should be fun. christine and i are going to wegmans in a little bit to get some subs and stuff for the meeting.
after the retreat on friday night, becky and i went to an open party at pi kapp, which was alright. i saw some people from my floor last year that i hadn't seen in awhile, so that was good. we stopped by theta chi afterwards, but it was so jappy and i felt totally out of place, so we went home pretty early. because i thought then i would be able to get a lot of work done on saturday. as if that actually happened!
ordered chinese with dusty on saturday and basically just sat around for the entire day being a bum. last night we pre-gamed at psi u and then had a highlighter mixer at sigma phi. so much fun. i'm definitely covered in high lighter now though. and have to leave to get ready for the Emmaus meeting in just a little bit! and then work like crazy, because i'm behind in readings for two classes. great. i don't know why it seems like i'm always busy, and yet i never actually get anything done! except for peer ministry stuff, but i guess obviously i'm more likely to actually get that stuff done because i care, rather than schoolwork. yesterday i did actually get some stuff done, i had to contact 97 people who had originally signed up for Emmaus groups and then never actually joined one. it took forever, but most people were really receptive and i guess had just never gotten around to actually joining one. that's the bad thing about cornell, i think a lot of people are usually so busy with all their stressful work that they almost forget about things that are actually really important to them.
so it's gonna be a busy day, now it's time to try to wash all this highlighter off my face and arms... this should be fun!
