Recipe of the Month (belated)

So Feb kind of slipped past for the most part with an extra roomie, some craziness at work and more random melodrama than I care to recount. Thus, here is the new recipe which I created in Feb:

Sausage and Lentil Stew

Remove 2 Italian sausage from casing, browning with olive oil and minced garlic in the bottom of a saucepan until well browned.
Add chili powder, paprika, and cumin, stir, add approx 1/2 c. lentils and enough water to cover the mixture by approx 1/2".
Simmer for approx 15 minutes, adding 1 diced tomato and additional spices to taste. Everything is done when the lentils are tender.

This sounds really simple (and is) but tastes amazingly good. I think it seems like a good representation for a month where just making it through has been a big accomplishment and where simple combinations and low-key cooking were key. February has been a big month for information, both new and some revisited.

Soon we'll see the rest of what March has in store, I suppose.
