Some news travel fast... but now I can go even faster.
A friend wisely told me yesterday might turn out to be the best day of my life. Now I don't know about 'best', but thank you for making it a wonderful and unforgettable evening. Thank you for bearing with me and making me feel so comfortable around you.
When I left this morning, still carrying a smile on my face, I came across a car rental on my way to the bus stop. Yes, Kouvola is a really big city, it even has a bus stop... I felt this little twitch in my guts and knew I missed my bike. What can I tell you, I love driving around the countryside when I'm happy. So I changed my plans and lent out a nice vehicle instead of waiting for the bus. When I showed the clerk my Australian drivers license he became a little nervous tho and I had to promise promise promise him I knew how to drive on the right side and had done it before. Oh, and he made me pay an insolently high insurance. But I can give back the motorbike in hell and I even got a free map so I shouldn't complain.
Then I got myself some nice new leather pants - I knew it was a mistake to leave my vesture in Melbourne - and took off for a trip around the Finnish winter landscape. It was so wonderful, the lakes, the mountains, Finland is such a lovely country. I even got a few glimpses on the sun, so at one point I had to stop and take in the beauty of this place. Then I suddenly felt the irresistible need to to sing and share my happiness with the universe. I think the poor creatures in the forest would rather not have known tho...
Now back in hell I'll have to find Burton. Maybe we can have a go on those cookies we/I wanted to bake and I have to make sure it would be all right with him if I parked me and my stuff at his place a couple more days. Now that's what you get for kindly agreeing to pick me up at the airport...
Two more things to mention. First and very pleasant: I bumped into Eero yesterday in the streets totally out of the blue. So he does exist after all, maybe he'll even call me one day and we'll get to talk some more.
Second I heard yet another confused soul has left the capital. It won't be long and I'll start to believe it's me who scares them all away...
Well, my holidays are pretty nice so far, let's see what shall come next.
P.S.: Does anyone have an idea what I could get Migé for his birthday?
