I like this song.. because it deals with how frustrating it can sometimes be to not be able to have everyone experience your religion. Like, it gets annoying because I want other people to enjoy Christianity the way I have, but I can't say a word about it or else people will think I'm trying to push it on them. So I think this song deals with that ( Read more... )

Religon is the way the world makes sense to someone...
if people don't want to enjoy christianity like you do, you shouldn't try and make them....
When anything is forced on people it is almost always met with defiance
It is not your job to convert the world

well, i see your point mr/ms anonymous, but i dont think thats what vanessa meant. tell me if im right here vanessa.

shes not trying to CONVERT you. shes not MAD at you if you dont believe in what she does. she just feels so passionately about her religion that sometimes she gets sad when she knows that other people arent feeling the same way too! and she wishes she could show them and share it with them! i dont think "force" is the right word to use. anyway, its just out of love, not hate. vanessa would never try to change peoples opinions because she thinks they are bad or evil. only because she loves them and wants to share her experiences with them. i know her. trust me. maybe you dont know her well enough.

i hope you read that and took it into consideration, because if you just dismissed it, then you are just as close-minded as you think christian people are.

oh my darling katie, you're so smart.
not that our anonymous friend isn't. but, after katie's little bit up there is taking into consideration, you should also remember that if you found true, solid, midblowing meaning in your life, wouldn't you share it to?
and no, it wouldn't be your job to do so, but you sure as hell would want to.

You two girls are so amazing, you took the words out of my mouth before I could even form them, and said it in an even better and more eloquent way than I could possibly dream of!

Vanessa, I completely and utterly understand what you're feeling, and I think Andrea said it wonderfully too, just like what she said at YEC: "Why wouldn't anyone not want to feel this love and joy and happiness?"

To Mr/Ms Anonymous, and others who are feeling that religion is being "pushed": All we're trying to do is spread the joy we are feeling because we really love you (even though I probably don't love YOU because I don't know YOU personally... haha). We want you to feel the happiness. We don't want to enforce it upon you, but sometimes we're gonna really have the urge to because.. it just seems all to wonderful to not want to get it and embrace it. It being the wonders of God's Love, of course. :-)

Vanessa, love you.
Stay strong. Stay faithful.

I DIDN'T try to force it on anyone. I wrote an entry in MY livejournal about the fact that it sometimes got aggravating that all my friends were missing out. And that I couldn't talk about my religion with out something like this happening, and some one assuming that I as trying to push it on others. If you read the song I put in that, it's about not pushing your religion ("I pushed you cuz I loved you guys, I didn't realize that you weren't having fun. And I dragged you up the stairs and I told you to fly, you were flapping your arms, then you started to cry you were too high"). that whole part is about how you shouldn't push some one into your religion, it was just aggravating taht you couldn't help them to experience the Awesomeness of God. I never said that I strived to convert the world. I commented that it was frustrating that not everyone understood (isn't it always for most things ( ... )
