Voices of praise

Arugula seedlings spun to the god of light.
Ants scampered for their god of fertility.
Clouds ran and a maple tree
boughed to the god of breath.
A cardinal sang to the god of dominion.
Late snow squalled for the god of downward.

A window stood before the god of vision.
The desk lay prostrate before the god of service.
The journalist placed a call to the god of truth.

The mobile phone pulsed with the heart
the one true god of necessity
and all believed.

The clouds voided their bowels.
Growing fierce for the god of downward
the snow launched a holy war
the weather closed
the puddle froze
and the light failed.

The journalist groaned
gave up on truth
and let the vibrant god of urgency die.

The window sighed.
The maple disappeared.
The cardinal fled.
Purity obscured everything.
