For the Tour de Fleece I wanted to get a little actual spinning in on the first day, so last night I hand carded the first rolag and spun it before bed. Then I got up and did two more.
Each of the 75 packages
I showed yesterday contains 4g of fibre. As I go, I weigh half of each, make a 2g rolag and spin it, saving the other half for the seond ply. In this way the colour gradations for the two plies should line up.
So I have 72 packages to go, and that's only half of it. It took me half an hour to spin two. We're supposed to spin at least 15 minutes a day for the Tour de Fleece, which works out perfectly.
I'm calling this project the autumn diamonds scarf.
