Vote Highway 17
I'm reposting this photo because this stretch of the Trans-Canada Highway, which I enjoyed so much on our spring drive to Winnipeg, is in close running to have a song written about it. CBC's Song Quest will commission 13 new road songs, one for each province and territory, to be written by a Canadian artist. This section of road, also known as Highway 17 around the north shore of Lake Superior, is a journey through the wilderness, small villages dotted through great distances of boreal forest amid sudden stunning vistas.
Currently Highways 17 is running a close second to Roncesvalles Avenue in Toronto. If you would like to vote, go to Songquest, and click on the link for Ontario.
