Thanks

It has been a busy day and I haven't had time to reply to everyone, so I just wanted to say thanks to my friends who sent greetings via email, LiveJournal and Facebook. bitterlawngnome posted a nice photo. Les and I were tuning organs (for Easter) in Toronto today, so we managed to meet Danny for lunch, and that made me feel all soft and smiley inside.

I don't go to the Penny Whistle after rehearsal on Wednesday nights very often anymore, but I did tonight, to spend time with a Jon, Alan, Greg, Jan and Marg, so I could imagine everyone there who would like to have been. Jon and Alan bought me drinks, and the waitress provided a shot of Bailey's to cap it off.

As I was crossing the street, the full moon made a ghostly appearance through a veil of clouds, so I stopped to say hello and goodbye. Birthdays really should be more a celebration of motherhood than of childhood. I've known that, but never really felt it until now.

Mom once told me that beautiful spring weather arrived the week I was born. Surely no one else would remember that, but of course it can be looked up online now. The Old Farmer's Almanac records a high of 68°F in Detroit on March 24, 1964.
