Nice lilac! They are staring to bloom around here too - some country roads are just lined with them, likely planted by early settlers years and years ago.
Funny how we are sometimes embarrased to take photos of just the best subjects (like your poilecemen) isn't it. I'm less shy about that than I used to be, but there remains a bit of a stigma attached to taking photos of strangers, as one's motives seem always to be questioned. And heaven forbid you try to take a picture of a child, for instance. (Because we all know what that means, dont we?)
Yes it is funny. I've been thinking of giving myself an assignment to overcome this nervousness: to photograph dogs with their owners. It would give me an excuse to approach people walking their pets in the park and say, "I'm working on a project...." I could offer them a print in exchange for their participation in this artistic endeavour.
