Opportunity Knocks? (x-posted from my site)
This image actually made it onto Explore on Flickr. That has only happened with two of our other photos, so I thought it was worth mentioning. Thanks to everyone for the comments and taking to time to have a look.
Earlier this year, we had a few people broach the subject of us doing some family portraits for them, or some of their children. Nothing concrete, just general chatter in passing. It sounded like a good idea, and we have tossed around the possibility of using our game room as a studio and doing some photography work on the side.
Lately, that has started to sound more interesting to me and a few possibilities are starting to arise for us to shoot some weddings, portraits, and more photo work in general. It is something that we enjoy, and there's always work to be had if you look for it. Now, it is just the matter of putting it all in motion.
I am shooting an informal wedding next weekend, which will help with getting some experience doing it. There is also a chance that we're going to shoot one in October. It's a start. Baby steps, right? I may need some people to model for me. So, if you aren't camera shy, and want to get some portraits done, this might be the time to let me know.
This might just work. And, if it works out how I would like it to, I can drop the 9 to 5 grind, the 3+ hours of commuting every day, and actually do something I enjoy. Wouldn't that be great?
I guess I should come up with a name... and maybe start putting together a web site. I may need some help with doing some stuff in Flash. *hint*
