The Silly Season
Politically nothing is happening. Absolutely nothing that is said or done between now and the conventions will matter .(besides fundraising) So we get nonsense onMichelle Obama's fashion sense or Cindy McCain's sordid past. The pundits are besides themselves to come up with anything remotely relevant. So the graphics departments are having a lot of fun dramatizing and photoshopping intros for entirely mundane stories.
Not that it's entirely their fault, no one is paying attention. Not even me. Summer isn't exactly conducive to political discourse. I find it hard to stay focused on the ills of the world in a margarita haze.
In other news, I'm in a pissy mood today. I'm like a bomb about to go off at any moment. Just about everyone has been annoying the shit out of me. I'm sure not everyone in the world is actually annoying, but damn it feels like the world is populated by douche bags and dumb bitches.
