Trapped by the Tide

This is the causeway linking Holy Island (where the ruins of the Lindisfarne monastery are), which is submerged at high tide. It's a few miles across the sands to mainland England, which you can see in the distance, and the tide comes in very quickly. You can watch the road disappear.

Yes, but not at high tide! It's completely uncovered when the tide is down.

Hey! I was there when I was 18. Beautiful place -the red stone ruins were very beautiful.

The monks at lindesfarne make something they call mead. Purest swill.

The red stones are amazing; I took a lot of photos of them. And yeah, I bought a lot of bottles of mead and fruit wine while I was there, and wasn't particularly impressed by it. I was disappointed.
