...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY THIS MORNING...

PERIODS OF LIGHT FREEZING RAIN WILL CONTINUE FOR THE MORNING COMMUTE ACROSS THE BALTIMORE AND WASHINGTON METROPOLITAN AREAS. TEMPERATURES ARE JUST BELOW FREEZING AT MANY LOCATIONS...AND ANY RAIN THAT FALLS WILL FREEZE ON CONTACT WITH UNTREATED SURFACES. WHILE PRECIPITATION AMOUNTS WILL BE VERY LIGHT THIS MORNING...ANY AMOUNT OF ICE WILL CAUSE SLIPPERY CONDITIONS.

BY 1100 AM...TEMPERATURES WILL CLIMB ABOVE FREEZING INTO THE MIDDLE TO UPPER 30S ALLOWING ANY ICE THAT HAS FORMED TO QUICKLY MELT. BY LATE AFTERNOON...AS COLDER AIR MOVES INTO THE REGION...THE RAIN WILL BECOME MIXED WITH SNOW AT TIMES BEFORE ENDING.

ACCUMULATION OF ICE ON ROADWAYS...BRIDGES AND OVERPASSES WILL MAKE TRAVEL TREACHEROUS. EXERCISE EXTREME CAUTION WHEN TRAVELING EARLY THIS MORNING AND ALLOW EXTRA TIME TO REACH YOUR DESTINATION.
