MY OH MY BABY YOU DO REFLECT THE SUN
So another month has past since a proper livejournal update and I promise this time I'll try to keep it brief.
After much deliberation it was decided that as part of my 21st birthday present, my parents would pay the airfare to go to Sydney the weekend before my birthday. Which "coincidentally" also happens to be Mardi Gras weekend. So yes I'll be in Sydney again for Mardi Gras... YAY!! Not only will it be a great way to blow $1000 to celebrate my last few days before entering "real" adulthood, it will also be a great way to celebrate my recent coming out.
That's right folks, after many years of people convincing me I should tell my parents, it's finally been done. The best part is, I didn't need to tell them, they came to me (on Sunday night). Thanks to Mum's blabbermouth friend Tracey, who I had a 40 minute conversation about it with the other week, I got it done the cheat's way. It's not like I tried overly hard to hide it anyways, it's just that I've been brought up in a very non-communicative household, which kind of made it hard for me to tell them.
Dad: "It's not something we haven't suspected for a while now"
*ROFL*
They went on to say how it doesn't make an ounce of difference blah blah blah, but I can't help but get the feeling that this will be the first and only time we'll speak about it, and even then the talk went for all of three minutes. It's a pity I had no money or anyone to celebrate it with on Sunday night, but I suppose this means I can just let loose in Sydney. So all in all a very happy Adam.
This came after a very enjoyable night away in Halls Head with Brett and co at his parents place. My only complaint is that the sun didn't stay out long enough for me to get a tan (I AM white again Ilia!), and that the Quick Crosswords in the West Australian newspaper aren't very quick at all. Ironically, the only question I didn't get an answer for was 'unanswerable (10)'. If anyone has the answers for last Tuesday's crossword (which would mean it's in the Wednesday paper), please put me out of my misery and tell me what the goddamn fucking answer is.
In other news, Jo got me the best early birthday present I could ask for, a copy of Courtney Love's new album, America's Sweetheart!! I LOVE YOU JO!! It's a very decent album, but I'm just very glad it came with lyric sheets because dear lord does she know how to make indeterminate guttural slurrings.
