My NCAA Tournament brackets suck!

Mar 21, 2006 00:10

This is by far my worst year as far as filling out NCAA Tournament brackets. From Michigan State dropping the ball in the 1st round to George Mason to the entire Big Ten not making it out of the first weekend to teams like North Carolina and Syracuse dropping out earlier than expected to schools like Bradley and George Mason getting to the Sweet 16, my brackets have been mercilessly slaughtered. So now I've adopted Villanova as my team to follow the rest of the Tournament.

Back to Michigan State. What a disappointing season. Four returning starters from last year's Final Four team and we finish 8-8 in the Big Ten and blow it in the 1st round of the NCAAs. In retrospect losing Torbert, Hill, Bograkos, and Anderson to graduation was a brutal hit to the roster. We had a slew of freshmen coming off the bench in a blanced Big Ten- Suton, Gray, Joseph, Walton, and Ibok. Oh well. Where one bracket dies another one comes to life. Hockey has been resurrected at MSU as much-maligned Coach Rick Comley led MSU hockey on an absolute tear once 2006 started- 16-3-3 since 1/1. Damn! The results? 2006 CCHA Tournament Championship, the Mason Cup, and a #1 seed in the NCAA Tournament. Being from Chicago, I can get used to championship-caliber hockey. Even better is the fact that the Frozen Four is in Milwaukee, WI. Now picture this- MSU, in the Frozen Four, in the beer capital of this country. Talk about the stars aligning. That would be so sweet.

That's all for now. Time to relax- because that's how I roll!
