I'm waiting for my hair to dry before I go to bed, soooo... I've decided to tell a little story =P It's about my childhood. A little talk with Nicholas brought this up.
Back when I was very young (I can't remember exactly how yound, maybe 7 or 9), my parents rented this Laser-Disc from the LD shop. It appeared to be a cartoon, and it had a picture of a rabbit on it.
The name of the movie was Watership Down.
As a kid, I was always scared of scary shows like X-files. So, I spent the next 93 minutes watching a bunny cartoon filled with scenes of nightmarish ghostly hallucinations and bloody deaths by evisceration and strangulation.
I can still remember the scenes so clearly. I remember Fiver's first vision where blood starts flowing down a hillside which moves to a vision of rabbits dieing; the scene where a ghostly rabbit led Fiver to the injured Hazel; the whole scene where Oldwig was dieing from being strangled by a metal wire while the other bunnies tried to help him while the flies were already starting to fly around his head....
That movie gave me nightmares!
In hindsight I think my parents knew what the movie was about. But still... it was SCARY!!!
Edit: If anybody, ever, says that cartoons are childish to you again, tell them to watch Watership Down!
