If anyone feels the need to discountinue having me as a friend because of my political beliefs or the fact that I hate Obama, please let me know. The fewer Christmas cards I have to send out the more money I save.

To all conservatives out there, here is a phrase that in the near future will save your ass: "DON'T SHOOT! I AM A GOOD

Ironically enough I do not watch or listen to FOX news.

Obama wants to take the taxes back to what Bill Clinton had when he exited office. That was 39% on income over $150,000. This in my personal opinion is punishing success. I do think that people who make more should be taxed more, but do not get me wrong, what does it say when their taxes are raised and others are lowered. Eventually someone taxes are going to have to go up again to keep up with government spending and with someone like Obama it will be those who make more than the alloted amount who will see even higher taxes yet again.

Add onto this that higher taxes on businesses cause them to raise their rates for goods and services. If this is not feesable then they will fire employees until their profits (and pay checks for upper management) return to what they consider an acceptable level thus continuing a cycle where the rich get richer and the poor get poorer.

John Doe may be getting a shit ton of money back from Big O's tax plan, but he is now going to have to pay more on goods and services because Richie Rich raised this commodities rates. In essence, that extra money amounts to nothing.

Yes the tax system does need to be overhauled, but I believe it needs to be an overhaul that is fair to everyone, not just those of a certain economic status.

With all that said, J.G. I hope I am wrong. Seriously, I hope that my fears will turn out to be without base and that I might even be able to respect and on certain issues support Big O. Hell if that day comes I will send you and the WOD a gift certificate to House of Pies or something. But as it stands now, I do not trust the man to save my life.

I hope you can respect my beliefs on this matter.

You state that Obama's assassination would be fine, then turn around and try to play nice? Coward. flemco November 5 2008, 16:09:18 UTC

Not really. Not when right out the gate you insinuate rather forcefully that I and folks like myself are Socialists.

Cry harder, cry more, you butthurt baby.

I do think that people who make more should be taxed more, but do not get me wrong, what does it say when their taxes are raised and others are lowered.

It says that Obama's plan rolls back the tax breaks that the upper 3.2% of America have been wallowing in for the last 8 years. Like pigs in shit, these companies have been just lapping it up for eight. Fucking. Years.

And don't give me this shit about how the CEOs will OMG HAVE TO FIRE EVERYONE or OMG RAISE ALL PRICES to keep their golden parachutes in play. Didn't happen under Carter, didn't happen under Clinton. There's this little cavalcade of maggots that have to be pleased, known as the shareholders, and contrary to popular belief it is NOT a good policy to perform massive layoffs or raise prices too high if the shareholders are antsy. If the shareholders perceive that such a thing is happening, they will move to have the CEO in question replaced.

Finally, just a note:

Where would these Socialists get the guns that you're pleading with them to not shoot?

After all, we're all a buncha gun-hating, godless commies, right?

You still have not explained how Obama is a Socialist.

there's still an issue of supply and demand. if corporations raise prices too high on products consumers won't buy them, which will force them to lower prices. In a nutshell I think that's what's going on right now with the gas prices finally lowering. There's only so much consumers will allow prices on goods and services to rise before they protest by refusing to buy it.
