Yeah, I'm going to be posting a lot about my snake for the next month or two. Live with it! :)
So, I thought Sly (I think the name is going to stick) had a bad shed, where the skin comes off in flakes and pieces. Usually indicative of a number of issues. Most common seemingly beeing that the humidity isn't high enough; something I have since remedied.
Imagine my surprise last night, then, when I found out I was wrong. I saw a piece of skin that clearly looked like the taile tip and I thought I would clear it out. It was sticking out of the substrate at the bottom of the cage so I thought I'd just pluck it out. So I did... but it kept coming, pulling out of the ground, inch after inch. When I finally held it up, it was a fully intact snake skin, easily half a foot in length. He DID have a good shed! That's the way the skin should come off when they shed!
I was so proud I made sure to show it to my housemates!
