My house.

I love my house.
It kicks ass!

Granted it's like 60% empty, since I use maybe 1/3 of the first floor and barring laundry and the master bathroom none of the 2nd floor. Which means that I've got 4 empty bedrooms, and 2 empty bathrooms, in case any one needs a place to crash around Pheonix, AZ. As long as you're not a felon or a non-us citizen, it'll be free for the "short-term"*.

Note: as defined by less than a season.

It saddens me that I'm using 2x my electricity from back when I lived in an apartment. I suppose it's because I've got a bigger television and use speakers rather than headphones and more consoles, but still it's like a 300-400 watt difference, and I'm only using a laptop instead of a desktop. I know I'll never be able to get back to down to being charged the "this is the minimum monthly payment cost we can have" but it saddens me on how much wattage I use, I'd like to get back to using less than half a kilo-watt as an average, rather than my 729 watts current average. Hmm... how can I cut 230 watts from my energy use...

Ohh... I can replace my kitchen lights with LED bulbs, that might save a dozen or so watts average.
And probably unplug all of my consoles that I'm not using.

Although, I find it kind of funny that the APS site says that weatherization can save $349-$581, when I have a monthly cost of the electricity generation of ~$30, so my TOTAL yearly cost of electricity is going to be about $360-$400. With the other ~$50 a month being misc costs that allow me to actually HAVE electricity, but then I'm different about heating/cooling my house.

Although, it's actually funny that the APS [compare how your home stacks against others of its kind] places my house. Apparently, I'm the edge case of least use, or that I'm SO much less that it tries to place my outside the grid range and so just places me on the edge.

I still need to get some home improvements done, like get a garage door opener, and fix all of the screens in my house and some stuff with the sliding doors/windows, and a couple of sprinkler heads, but it's all good, my ~10k tax return will pay for all of that and the rest of my car loan. Hurray for Me.

Also, does any know if Yip is still alive?
I've tried communicating with him via AIM, but I've haven't gotten a response since I started trying about a week ago. I'm marginally getting concerned that I might try a different medium like calling him.
