I dunno. But I have new digs. I'm living in an efficiency next to a good friend of mine. I do work for her in exchange for a roof over my head. My roof, however, just sprung a major leak during the torrential downpour we had the other day. As it were, it's barely stopped raining since then and thus my roof continues to let that rain in.
At any rate, it's quiet and calm out here, over all. I have made new friends, too, one of whom is actually a friend of my Father and Tim's from waaaay back. That's nice. Last night we cooked a shit ton of burgers and home fries, drank heavily, and just generally chilled out.
Julia graduates on Saturday, and me and Ms. Linda are driving up there to see it. We plan to camp out at Chewacla state park, which is a nice location in Auburn, not too far from the University. We're either leaving tonight or in the morning. I'm kindly hoping for in the morning so that I have more time to prepare. I'd love to dry these clothes I just washed but it's looking like rain yet again. And I barely have anything clean to wear. But we won't be there but for three days. I have a nice set of clothes laid aside for wearing to the actual event.
I'm excited about it, frankly. Not just the going to Auburn deal, but getting to actually see Julia's big moment that she's waited for so long. It'll be fun.
Been talking to Danielle a lot lately. She may talk to me online rather than on the telephone for a change today, and if that happens I can send her the pictures I scanned of... that person. That... mean, cruel person. That.... man... that boy.
Damn, and I just looked at my hands. My hands and arms are purely ruined. All mottled, cut, and callused. My hands used to be so nice and fair.
I need to get back into a pattern of daily or near-daily updates. I used to be real good about that but these days it's just not like it once was.
I reckon for now I'm gonna wrap this up. Take me a few more shots of whiskey and go work in the flower bed I'm making for a while. I'm working on a hen-and-chicks based rock garden. So far it's pretty. It'll look great when it starts to sprout new growth.
Anyway, I gotta get moving. Gotta do something about these clothes in the machine. Try to hang them out in spite of the clouds.
More later.
