Surgery and Piercings

Do due to my chronic bladder infections I will be having a minor surgery next Friday. I will be put under general anesthetic. This is very scary to me, it rubs my control freak nature the wrong way. For that period of time I will have no control whatsoever, moreover I will never have any idea of what actually took place. This scares me. The procedure itself is pretty simply. Stick a scope up my urethra, dilate it, and scrape off any nasty bits that are hanging around.

Anyhoo, on to the piercings part of the post. In the day surgery book they gave me it says I have to take all of my piercings out. Thanks to watching House, that doesn't enrage me in ways it may have previously (if something goes wrong and they have to do an MRI... well yeah). However I have some piercings I can't take out on my own (don't have the equipment). Plus all the piercers who have worked on me are no longer working in Vancouver. Does anyone have ring openers and closers? Some tygon to keep things open?
