More details of the Man of Steel/Henry Cavill costume.

I'm putting the pictures under a cut for those who really don't want to see. That said, babettew54, I know you said you didn't want to look, but this entry includes female friendly fanservice that - with the DCnU style costume design - I can't help but notice. While you fangirls have a look under the cut, I'm going to try and find some brain bleach... ( Up close and personal with the Man of Steel costume )

Nolan being in charge has not helped, due to how he's dealt with Bruce Wayne and Batman. Everyone ELSE is fine (Ra's Al Ghul, Comissioner Gordon, Harvey Dent, and WOW! a Joker I can believe would cripple Barbara Gordon and beat a Robin to death with a crowbar!) - but Bale does not make me think "Batman" or "Bruce Wayne"... so I fear for the characterization more than anything else.

The concern I have for the costume is the lack of a belt or briefs does make the image of Cavill's Superman even more "obscene" than with Routh due to the fact that instead of drawing the focus of the eyes AWAY from the crotch, it actually draws attention TOWARDS.

Is this something intended? I'm not so sure.

Interesting that the cape doesn't look so regal all swept back as it is unlike in the promotional image. Seems the Thor comparisons no longer hold as the cape isn't as sweeping and doesn't enhance the width of his shoulders. Looking at the new images, the initial comparison appears laughable.

I know I wasn't alone when I heard about Nolan. His Batman films were successful, enormously successful, and of course the producers and studios jumped at the chance to have him attached to MOS!! *sigh*

I know now that it was a bad choice. He's changing the character, and it's not only the suit, which now I see was a big part of the change, but it's more than that.

I was excited about the casting though. Amy's red hair and her 'perky' demeanor from her prior films seemed like an unlikely choice to play Lois, but I knew she was good actress. Other casting news made me happy too. But now, it doesn't matter, because Kal-El and Clark won't be the person we've come to love for so many years.

I'm so upset. I feel like crying. Is Superman really going out like this? DC... you are EVIL!!
