babies bustin' out all over!!!
they say it's the "new baby boom". and not just celebrities---although, you have to wonder if all these hollywood births are just a trend: baby, the NEW must have accessory. but seriously, at marie's just a mere slice of the pregnancy pie is witnessed...and is it BIG!!! regular customers aside, at *least* 5 new, extremely expecting women come in over the lunch hour each day, and i'm there every day, so i note the new ones. then there's the plethora of moms/dads with kids under a year. today, we ran out of highchairs and it was a sloooooow day. there was a table of two women, both first time customers, one with her baby in the babyseat, one about 8 months along. THIS IS A REGULAR OCCURANCE. is there some mad, crazy baby conspiracy going on? is it "mad baby disease?" then there are the ones not quite showing yet, like one of our employees, who learned she's having a girl. not to mention, all the expectant moms i know who AREN'T eating at marie's....

out of respect to all our nations immigrants who (i hope) participated in the walk-out today, i made a new shirt. handpainted- "because YOUR ancestors were immigrants too..." with a big red circle with a crossed out "bill h.r. 418" in it. got a lot of positive comments about it. may go to the peace vigil tonight even though it's across town. may be not. we'll see.
