I shot him. I dragged his body from the river. The fire I lit was feisty and hot. I sweat at the weight of this lifeless corpse in my hands and kept a grin upon my handsome face, as I admired my work.
I tossed the body into the inferno and watched as it was swept up into the darkness of incinerating flesh. I chuckled and my black boot kicked at the sands beneath my feet, I was almost startled by how badly my heart pound, but it was all worth it. The thrill of the hunt and the million dollars I would receive.
I rolled the toothpick around in my mouth, as my hands lay in my coat pockets, watching the fires, evaporating the blood and DNA to black ash. When the fires were done with their duty, I dowsed them and smirked.
So long, for a night well done...
