Redemption Point

I think I'm starting to get the hang of this. >_>

I opted to remake Avon and Vila (in different costumes) instead of doing something logical like making new characters. These costumes were MUCH simpler. Avon's is all red (it's actually much brighter red in person, more of a maroon) so there was no little detail work needed except for the quilting effect. Vila's was just two solid colors, so no detail trim needed, either. Much, much easier to do than the ones I started with. Ahahaha. These are also both nearly an inch taller than the first ones I made, which made some of the detail work easier to handle, too. Uses up more clay, but I think it works better.

Also, I sacrificed giving Avon his pretty little heels and gave them both bellbottoms--but they stand on their own! I also put them in the oven with two cake pans to help prevent them from falling over, though I think the bellbottoms worked fine in that regard. Anyway! :D I'm much happier with the way these two came out. On to the pictures!

(Because I mixed silver into Avon's hair, sometimes it sparkles...)

Vila may be a Delta, but Avon thinks that's some superior grade hotness right there.

And a comparison shot. I love the little Vila, but the new one just looks much more Vila-y.

(I think the Avons are planning something...)

When I can afford it (and my hands stop hurting, omg kneading so much clay owwwww), I totally intend to remake Avon and Vila in their brown and silver "signature" outfits (signature to me, anyway), and bigger, like these two. The only thing that bothers me with these two is that they never wear these outfits together. Vila wears the grey top and white pants in "Redemption" and "Pressure Point." Avon's got his dentist outfit on in "Redemption" and while he wears the lobster suit in "Pressure Point" Vila's got that yellow cape and yellow gaunlets on in "Pressure Point" which I opted not to do. The other time Avon wears the lobster suit with Vila's grey, Vila's wearing matching grey trousers. (Which I would have done instead of the white, but I ran out of grey.) I know I am the only one nerdy enough to notice that, but it does bother me mildly. So much so that I may someday make Vila a cloth yellow cape and gaunlets. Or, more likely, just make another Vila. Or something. I dunno.

My mom wants to know why I can't sell these. Um, I haven't tried. :D But if anyone is interested, let me know. I really have no idea as to price or anything. I think it will be really dependent on colors and time involved. Like, Avon in the red suit was a LOT easier to make than silver Avon, and he looks better. Plus, red suited Avon used a lot less colors than silver Avon (ironically, though red Avon used up almost all my red clay). So what I'm saying is, if I did custom stuff, something with few colors would likely be cheaper/easier to make than something with a lot of colors. (Especially considering, for instance, that I don't have any orange clay. So I'd have to go buy some.)

Um, I'm getting ahead of myself. Anyway.

LOOK! Cute little chibis!

I have a bunch of blue. I think I might have to try a Spock or McCoy next. >_> I'm just upset I forgot to get gold because that means I can't do their rank/insignia unless I paint pen it on later. (Which... actually... would probably look better anyway.)

IT'S OVER!
