A belated Happy Mother's Day to those who celebrate the day! I always remember my own with love. The weather wasn't particularly cooperative here for those who wanted to celebrate outside but I hope people had a good time.
And a belated happy birthday to
janedavitt! Hope you had a good one!
Books? I just finished reading The Glass Universe, all about the women in the late 1800s/early 1900s who funded the telescopes and analyzed literally millions of stars and always got less pay and recognition than their male counterparts.
I got three holds from the library all about cooking. I must have been hungry that day. There's a fun graphic novel one about eating and drinking in France. Cute. One about cooking for one - I'm always looking for new recipes - and one about snacking cakes that has such beautiful illustrations, I may eat the book.
But then I put them aside because my hold on Abandoned in Death by J.D. Robb came in. I just love that series. So far I'm enjoying this one. Then I'll go back to the cookbooks.
For me, spring isn't over until the azales and dogwoods are done. The azaleas are beautiful this year. There are nice banks of them along the riverwalk. I love sitting on those benches and watching the river when the weather cooperates. And a few days ago I walked home along Pennsylvania Avenue. I like this photo of the Zodiac Fountain outside the National Gallery of Art.
Hope everyone has a great week!
