I hope it finds you all well.
I read Lockdown on London Lane by Beth Reekles, a cute rom-com. An apartment building in London goes into lockdown early in the pandemic with very little notice. Couples in various stage sof relationships can't escape each other. Hijinks ensue. I'm currently reading The Woman Who Would be King by Kara Cooney, all about Hatshepsut the ancient Egyptian queen. I'm a sucker for ancient Egpyt and it is a very thoughtful reexamination.
My Thursday night group took a week off so we are only up to Episode 4 of The Gilded Age. I skipped ahead and watched episode 9. Really good and a nice way to close out the season. It has gotten me interested in turn of the century America. And I still want to watch the other episodes.
Cherry Blossom season was kind of a dud this year. High winds persisted and the tree were pretty much done last Wednesday. But we still have a lot of events including the parade next weekend.
I came across a photo I took in 2012 of the contents of my purse. For laughs I took one today. A spare mask and hand sanitizer is standard now. I don't carry makeup any more, though there's usually lip balm in there. My smartphone has replaced my IPod and flipphone. I can read books on my phone, so my Kindle and paperbacks stay at home more often. But I've always got a notepad and pen. Of course, readers and keys are a constant 🙂 My bag is definitely lighter.
Have a great week!
