All right, I'll confess right here and now that I really do suck at replying to people :| But thank you all for your offers of help and such. ♥♥♥ I love you guys.

Things have gotten better this week, but it's always difficult to give an answer about what can be done to help when oftentimes, I'm a bit unsure myself ^^;

Aaaand in an odd way, this segues a bit to the second blog topic from this meme.

What I do for comfort/what is/are my pick-me-up(s) for not-so-great days.

Well...lately, it's anything and everything. But that's a bit vague, so let me narrow that down.

  • Watching something that makes me laugh/is a tried and true favorite. If I'm in a mood or just feeling utterly down, I'll always say that, oh, I should watch something incredibly sad or that I know will make me cry like a baby with a skinned knee--but 99% of the time? I won't. Plus I give myself awful headaches from crying most of the time and sometimes a cathartic release only works for a few minutes before I realise that I still feel like shit--with an added headache. I find that watching comedies helps a lot. The whole "laughter is the best medicine" thing. But also...brightly colored movies help a lot too--which is just code for saying cartoon/cg movies, or ones like Speed Racer (yes, I love it, shush!) >.>;

    Of course...There are times when that doesn't exactly work, or I'll pull down a one thing, stare at it for a while, then throw on something else for one reason or another. I've watched Sherlock numerous times actually. It's a bit of a happy place at the moment >.>; (Keeping up with Covert Affairs and Haven is lovely too~)

  • Listening to audios. I've amassed quit the collection of audios in the past, and hot damn, I'm glad I have, been I've been going through them like crazy in the past few months. Big Finish audios especially are a happy place, even if I'm of the opinion that they have their evil moments. (Angel of Scutari, I'm looking at YOU!) Recent listens in the past few days have included the first season of the Jago and Litefoot series--which is adorable and awesome at the same time. I love those two~--and a couple from the main range Doctor Who line from Big Finish, like Nocturne with Seven/Ace/Hex, and Catch-1782 with Six and Mel. I'm of the opinion that there need to be more Six and Mel audios, or a Doctor and Mel period because she's great, damnit. The Sixth Doctor's next trilogy in January hasn't had his companion announced yet, so I'm wondering what they're doing there... Oh! And the new Eleventh Doctor one called Ring of Steel is really, really good and dear lord I love Arthur Darvill. His Eleventh impression is so spot on, you'd think they'd brought Matt Smith in to read those lines! And the story is far, far better than The Runaway Train.

    Also, according to the Big Finish Facebook page, they were recording episode two of the S4 Gallifrey~~ See? "TUESDAY 7 September - Recording Gallifrey series 4 episode two today. Gosh it's sounding good. Really very good indeed... :) And at this very moment in time, we're recording a very pivotal scene..." Such teases!

  • Indulging a bit in guilty pleasures. For me, this includes perusing just about anything on the Cheezburger Network, starting with I Can Has Cheezburger. Well, there are ones I avoid, like the Celeb one (ROFLrazzi) just because I'm more than likely to run into spoilers there, but yeah. Uhhh, what else...watching films/shows/clips that make me laugh. Like the Celebrity Jeopardy sketches from SNL. There are a handful of them on Hulu, and god, I love them for how awful they are. Oh, and the Daily Show--though this one, for as much as I love it, does tend to get me worked up about political things because there are a bunch of dumb motherfuckers here that just make my brain hurt and I wish there was some way to stop them. And that...will be a rant for another day, I believe.

  • "Window" shopping. This is, perhaps, my more masochistic side coming out, but I love to shop around for things and see what's out there thus torturing myself with the sight of many things I can't afford or have. Wishlists are a lovely thing, and I think the one on Amazon is several pages long, and that's not taking into account the one on ThinkGeek, and the mental one I have in my head for all things Big Finish and elsewhere, like Squishables, which are ridiculously cute and even coming out with a Cthulhu and owl, but I want to see what the fox looks like. Ohmygosh fox! And dragon!! The designs are cute for the most part, but I think I'd get the panda more than any of them (and now possibly the fox and dragon >.>; *is sad*). I adore cats, but I'm not too hot on that design.

  • Something that isn't RP or F5'ing the same old sites over and over. These activities vary, and yes, RP does make me happy. I'm loving this little plot idea in Luministi where Ten fake-proposes to someone so they can use that as an excuse to see the Mayor in person. He's so very lucky he wasn't punched in the face.... Anyway, I could, while I'm watching something, start doing a bit of crochet, which I have been doing lately. It keeps my hands busy, and I need something for my hands to do or else I get bored. I can't just watch something out in the living room, for instance. I'll sometimes bring a notebook and pen out with me in case I get any sort of ideas or whatever. Oftentimes, I don't, but having a pen there in my hands and knowing I have a notebook at the ready is nice. BUT I DIGRESS. At the moment, I'm making a crochet purse sorta like the one I made for Mecchan a couple years ago, except I'm using a brown and teal-y blue yarns. (I'll give you two guesses about why I chose those colors in particular >.>;) The blue is a different shade than the one I used for my scarf, which...I may remake one of these days because I like things to be a bit more color-accurate and I know it'll bug me.

    What else...ah. If inspiration hits me, I might make some sort of beaded jewelry piece, but right now, all I manage to do is look at my beads and go, "ohhhh shiny" and poke them a bit before closing them up and putting them away. Oooooooor I'll bust out clay and make little fandom related things. It's been a while since I have, but I still have a project I want to finish before Christmas. It involves miniature things in little glass bottles I've had since I worked at Sterling. Two of them, which aren't fandom-related, are snowmen that are about or a little less than an inch tall. Sadly, I have no pictures, but I'm damn proud of them. It's the OTHER things that I'm working on that need to be finished. Eventually.

    What I have been doing more of lately is making icons. Mostly for my own personal use, but I've also been making Sherlock ones--and part of the reason for this post is to put up more of them. I'll be doing that soon enough~ I don't always do fancy things with the icons or do anything incredibly radical with my colorings. *is boring?* Sometimes I'll try something different then undo it because it looks completely silly--and yet, choosing icons made by other people, I have no qualms with that sort of coloring. Figure that one out. :|

    I've also been in a painting mood, but alas, I don't really have anything I want TO paint. I have a box of frosted Christmas bulbs that I want to paint with Doctor Who designs, but I've only planned out 6 of 9 designs and I want to have a solid plan for them before I do anything. As it is, I have to sketch the designs out on the bulbs first, and for some patterns--ala, the Seal of Rassilon--I want to have my damn printer fixed because that bitch will be annoying without a paper copy.

And I believe that's it! I did leave off talking to friends about things, but I think that's more of a given. Or sometimes I just won't feel like talking about it or won't know where to begin. I'd rather listen to what's going on with them and help them in someway because that feels far easier to fix than my own problems. I never said I made sense...

---------------

All right, icons! These are from Sherlock and are 95% OF Sherlock himself, as these were mainly made for Kisha, but I have a few of both Sherlock and John thrown in there as well. I'm keeping the John only ones to myself for now--and I've only made a fraction of the number of him as I've made of Sherlock >.> These are from the episodes "The Blind Banker" and "The Great Game", so spoilers for those, and there are a couple from "A Study in Pink" in there too. They're not in any particular order at all, and I have a couple pairs in there where I made them slightly different and couldn't decide which I liked better. There are a couple I'm still not too pleased with, but that happens...

Anyway, here they are~
