Fangirly entry about awesome video games (because they're what I've been using to distract me from stuff recently.) Non-spoilery thoughts about 'em in general.
-First, Apollo Justice. I finished this, oh, last week but I was still processing it and still kinda am, but gosh I love it. Love, love, love it. It's not quite as strong as the PW series, but it's just starting. And it was way too short. And I miss the psyche-locks like crazy ;_; Definitely looking forward to the next one!
-Super Mario Galaxy. I initially didn't think I'd like playing this game because of the whole floating around in space and jumping from thing to thing with the a very good chance of falling. It's the falling that made me nervous. Like playing in Twilight Princess, I wibbled and whined about each moment in the sky temple. >.> Urgh. But Super Mario Galaxy? Is really damn good. And GOD THE MUSIC! So Freakin' Awesome! Sadly though, we rented this game, but this is so on my list to purchase in the near future.
-NiGHTS: Journey into Dreams. Again, beautiful music. And I wasn't expecting NiGHTS to have a voice. And a very bad high-pitched English accent that kinda leans on the cockney side, no less. *sigh* So far the voice acting blows, but there are two characters who are actually decent and it's a relief to hear them speak. The rest need to be silent. >.> Gameplay wise, NiGHTS can be controlled with both the nunchuck and wiimote or just the wiimote itself. I used the nunchuck because it was much easier to use, but I'll be damned if I didn't get frustrated many times while playing the game. Everything is timed, and when you're like me and like to grab everything you can and explore, and NiGHTS doesn't fly fast enough >.>, there's no time to do any of that. There are two stories you can play and I'm stuck in both. I'd want to get this again because I don't like leaving a game like that, and I don't like to get stuck either.
-And lastly, Super Smash Brothers Brawl. SO WORTH THE WAIT. Beautiful music, the selection of characters is awesome, as are the secret characters, and the adventure mode thing, Subspace Emissary, is so much love. I love this game so much it's not even funny. I only curse it because it didn't come out while I was still in college. (Pretty much the same reason I wished Rock Band--another awesomely fun multi-player game--was out a few years ago.) Le sigh. All the extra things are so cool and I love unlocking things. Definitely will take me a while to unlock everything >.>;
But yes, boring post is boring. I'd talk more about these games, especially Apollo Justice and SSBB, but I'm definitely getting tired. I'm starting to feel better health-wise, which is nice. I don't like feeling crappy when I'm at work.
