I just need to get out....
The thought kept creeping through her mind, every time another Kindred approached the corner of the room where she sat, perched elegantly on a seat by Godaric's side, concern etched across her stunning features. One elbow rested on the arm of his chair, wrist loose, fingers resting gently within the hand of the ancient Savage. Periodically, he'd tense, talon tipped fingers biting lightly into delicate skin as another Predator drew near.
The Knights saw to it, though, that no one approached too closely before they were carefully identified. After the conflict with the Nornir the previous night, everyone was on edge. Dark Mekhet eyes shifted in the low lit room, landing on each face within the circle of chairs she sat in - Pennington, Alita, Xavier, Foxe... there were others, but in the insanity of the weekend she'd forgotten the names of those she hadn't met previously.
Her eyes shifted down, to the smartphone in her free hand, as she pressed a few spots and brought up the intel feed. No updates worth noting from the Knights and the Watchers. Another button opened her email, and... what is this? Lines appeared in her forehead as she released Godaric's hand, "Pardon, I must speak to Alder Dutchess de la Cruz..."
She was on her feet even as his eyes followed her, and crossing the small circle to pass her phone to Alita, who looked up at her immediately, "You need to see this." She waited, ten seconds, enough for the other woman to get an idea of what the email is about, "Lady Cassidy is in immediate danger. Do we know where she is?"
Alita glanced around quickly, "No. Inform the Knights."
Within moments, Invictus Knights had dispersed across the gathering to seek out Lady Cassidy, the one who's slain Neya of the Norn the night before, and the Mekhet retired back to her seat, and back to observing Godaric's aura.

Some time later, a familiar flash of purple caught her eye, alerting her to Liberty Stone's presence just before Godaric and Duke Foxe spotted him. Both of them tensed immediately, Beasts at the ready, and Giuliana reacted instinctively, "No!" Her voice was quiet, but firm, "He isn't going to do anything. Don't mess with him."
Both men turned slowly to stare at her incredulously, and she braced herself before the two before continuing, "I live in the same City as Signor Stone.... Tampa... and there is a peace treaty in place. I would not wish the First Estate to be the ones who break that treaty."
A long pause, and then both men reluctantly forced themselves back into their seats. She could almost sense her shadow quivering.
-----------
Once the meeting with Lord Cole and Lydia Montgomery ended, the Mekhet allowed herself to be escorted back to her haven, gratefully closing the door to her suite behind her and cutting herself off from the rest of the world. She leans against the door, closing her eyes for a moment, and then senses a sudden presence. Opening them in the darkness, she watches her shadow take form.
Buona sera, Samuel.
