Summary: Bane goes to see Zaizen a day after saying he would leave the DJ alone. He comes baring cheesecake and an ulterior motive.

"I don't recall saying you had to be the only one receiving pleasure, but whatever you desire." Bane drawled, growing a little annoyed and peeved with the mortal. Okay, so maybe he was more than a little annoyed when his hand withdrew from beneath Zaizen's shirt and shot out for the wrist he dragged to his mouth. The brat was forever pushing him away, throwing up walls, and telling him to get the fuck out in more than one way as his continued insistence for it to be done and over with carried just that undertone. Fine, whatever, Bane thought as he snapped his mouth around the slender expanse and bit down hard, sinking his teeth deep into the vein that pulsated against the tongue he had to consciously still lest he gave the brat a kind of pleasure he'd already said he didn't want by lavish lick after lick over the warm flesh he suckled at with the first heated gush of blood.

Zaizen had said he didn't want cold and detached, and, yet, he pushed and pushed for just that until the vampire locked away the kindness he kept tossing back in his face. Bane closed his eyes, forced himself to remain detached and frozen within as he fed, taking little pleasure from the act that normally filled him with bliss. This feeding that the brat wanted to give him was nothing more than a means by which to fill a nutritional need. Something he could have gotten from a goddamn bag, if that was all he wanted and needed.

Zaizen gasped and then let escape the soft yelp that built up when teeth sank into his skin. He hadn’t expected it to be so quick or to be on his wrist, and shit, was it supposed to hurt this much? Green eyes that trembled from the pain and the fear growing from what he saw in Bane’s eyes, darted between his wrist at the vampire’s mouth and those predator’s eyes. Where was the pleasure that was supposed to come from the vampire’s kiss? Maybe he was too uptight and focusing on the pain to notice anything else though Zaizen wasn’t sure it was possible to ignore two sharp objects in your wrist and the strange feeling of your blood being drained.

His free hand grabbed at one of Bane’s arms without him even thinking about it, fingers digging into the bare skin they encountered, in what could be seen as a desperate cling. He wouldn’t beg for the vampire to stop, damn it! He wasn’t weak and he wouldn’t give that satisfaction. This is what he had asked for, wasn’t it? Maybe not exactly but Zaizen knew Bane was taking things literally or being an ass again and punishing him for saying the wrong thing. Like he was really supposed to know what was right or wrong in this sort of situation. It’s not like dealing with vampire attacks were taught in school or something you encountered every day.

With a deep breath, Zaizen willed himself to relax and just let everything be done that was supposed to be done and focus on not passing out no matter how nice that would be for relieving the pain. That, too, would give Bane too much satisfaction if he couldn’t handle what he had somewhat signed up for so the DJ opted for staring up at Bane into his eyes to show he was still mentally there.

It was those fingers digging into his skin and the pained yelp that drew his feeding to an end almost nearly as soon as it began. Certainly, he still hungered when he drew his mouth away, barely laving an attentive lick of his tongue over the holes he left behind. Dissatisfied about covered how he felt, Bane thought as he eased away from Zaizen and the smell that threatened to overwhelm his senses. There was fear and pain mixed in with the blood that still warmed his tongue, he could both smell and taste it. Yet, among all of those not an ounce of pleasure existed for either of them, least of all the mortal digging his fingers into his arm.

"So," he murmured coolly, his grip on the wrist he held firm but gentle, despite telling himself he shouldn't give a shit whether he was careful with the brat beneath him after all the shoving away Zaizen had done and would probably continue to do. "Is it still just the bite you want, because I could get this lack of involvement and emotion from a damn bag, though the fear and pain is a nice touch and might be worth a repeat." He was being a bastard and knew it, but did not stay his tongue as brown eyes watched the small river of red that streaked the wrist he held, winding down to lace both Zaizen's arm and his fingers.

He wanted to snarl that it wasn't what he wanted, but doubted the human gave a damn about his desires, otherwise the whole encounter could have gone so much better leaving both of them filled with a kind of bliss Bane had been craving from the moment he chose the human as his.

“I don’t know what I’m supposed... how I’m supposed... how this is supposed to go,” there, he admitted to not knowing something and even being wrong by apparently choosing incorrectly on how this feeding was supposed to go. But damn it, Zaizen didn’t have to like it and the sinking feeling in his gut from not only being wrong but apparently messing up on such a level was something he didn’t want a repeat of. Kenya would likely have a laugh and then some over his failure and misery he was feeling at that moment and make some mentioning about the genius being human after all what with making mistakes and feeling something other than boredom.

“Is there a level between sex and what has my wrist throbbing?” He wasn’t sure why he wasn’t screaming for help and trying to get away from Bane but encouraging him to try again. Maybe it really was just curiosity or maybe somewhere along the last several weeks he hit his head or the scares making him paranoid had also made him insane. Whatever the reason, Zaizen still lay on his bed, watching his blood trickle down his arm as he wondered again why he was chosen and why he was being given so many chances to get this right.

"What you're supposed to do? How you're supposed to act? How this is supposed to go?" An exasperated groan rumbled passed his lips as Bane shifted and rolled from where he was nestled. Flat on his back he stared at the ceiling, even as he was tugging on the wrist he held to pull Zaizen atop him. The mortal would either tumble into place haphazardly or start scrambling to fit himself where he'd be most comfortable. Either suited the vampire just fine.

"Do you fret this much over your one night stands?" he asked curiously, and then promptly changed his tactics. "Actually, if it were anyone else but me… someone you didn't hate; then what would you be doing right now? Forget what I am, who I am, don't focus on the throbbing, and think about what you would do if, say, Kenya were beneath you."

“I told you before that I don’t hate you. I wouldn’t bother dealing with you if I did,” Zaizen was getting annoyed with that topic and he wasn’t sure why he focused on that as he found himself sprawled over Bane in an awkward position thanks to that yank on his arm. Maybe because it was something familiar he reached for it first to help find his footing in such an awkward situation but even still his mind stumbled when Kenya’s name was mentioned. That was also a common tactic of the vampire’s, especially that night but Zaizen still wasn’t used to someone calling him out on it so often and believing everything he said even if it wasn’t entirely true.

“I don’t fret during sex, I know what I would do if someone else was beneath me, and it doesn’t have to be Kenya unless you want a smack upside your head for wandering into my room again before being tossed out,” he was slightly exaggerating what he would do to Kenya though it was something he used to do back when the sleep-walking began. Now, Zaizen just left Kenya be unless the bed was already occupied by someone that wouldn’t understand his friend’s odd habit. It also didn’t matter if he maybe, quite possibly, thought about Kenya lying beneath him once or twice in the past because he certainly wouldn’t act on them and he certainly wouldn’t tell the vampire that liked to tease him and have leverage over him.

“There would be wandering hands and clothes falling away,” he ventured on a moment later as his mind tuned out the dull ache in his wrist while focusing on the request. In a way Zaizen felt like he was giving in and about to lose the battle he had been waging against Bane since they met by admitting that he did find the man sexy and would act on the desires that sprang to life with them in his room together. But if Bane was into it, which the mortal had to believe he was with all the pushing he had been doing, then it wasn’t a complete loss and could even be spun into a victory if he was lucky by using his favourite line of knowing the vampire just wanted in his pants.

"Then prove it." Bane smirked, gaze leveled on the huffy green eyes watching him. He thought that covered both Zaizen saying he didn't hate him and the bragging concerning what would be taking place right then, if the mortal wasn't fretting as he had been from that moment in the kitchen. "Stop fretting like some virginal sacrifice, shut your mouth, and start showing me just how creative your mind can be when you have boundaries that you can't cross like the one that will stop us from having sex, but still leaves a whole world of possibilities open to us, if you'd ditch the moral and start backing up the boasts you're spilling."

Zaizen shrugged, giving up on shutting himself away from Bane. The vampire was attractive and there were worse things than making out with the guy again that he could think of. Gone were the thoughts that this was a game to see who would crack first and leave themselves open for teasing and insults and in that place was the simple desire to feed his sexual desires even if he still didn’t want to push all the way for sex. It was a weird barrier he had set up for himself but Zaizen still wasn’t completely into it and felt the sex would be lacking and neither would end up enjoying. But simple fooling around that could ignite a few sparks and make that feeding he inwardly cringed at a little more comforting-that was something he could go for.

With one hand as the other was a little too sore and he admittedly took to favouring it, Zaizen freed the button on his jeans and tugged down the zipper and repeated the action on Bane. It was a signal that he really was fine with the request that he prove himself and an invitation for the vampire to take up his own roaming hands again if he liked. After the pants, that meant the shirt and the mortal lifted his arms to slide his shirt free and toss it somewhere on the floor before leaning back down on a chest that was far too broad and strong and something he really wasn’t used to lying atop.

The only thing left for his statement was the kiss which he initiated with little hesitance as the feel and taste of the kiss from earlier still lingered enough to urge him on for another sampling.

Bane would have praised his feeder for finally being brazen, but didn't think it worth the effort to tear his mouth away from the lips he nipped and nibbled with a contented purr. That might break the spell that had his mouthy chosen giving into whatever attraction he held for him and initiating contact between them. He didn't want to send Zaizen running scared again, but with the removal of that shirt and the unfastening of those pants came the relinquishing of what little control Bane had been exerting to that point. He growled softly as he reached for his playmate, blunt nails raking over a slender back in silent urgings for the human to do some touching of his own, because he certainly was going to be doing enough of it, and to prove that point he grew far more brazen with sneaking a hand between them to trail fingertips teasingly over the patch of skin an unbuttoned and unzipped fly left bare to his touch.

Still favouring that sore wrist, Zaizen put his upper body weight onto his left arm as he leaned onto the bed beside Bane so he could trail fingers lightly over a well-muscled bare arm. He gave an annoying little moan into the mouth that had stolen control of the kiss when fingers brushed over his skin and he found himself sinking deeper into the moment. It wasn’t that he had a lot of one night stands and he certainly never had hired a whore for the night but he couldn’t help but wonder what would come out of this, what seemed like a random encounter between two people that never really got along making it seem so out of place and purely for sex. Truth was, it was for his blood more than anything else and Zaizen still didn’t know why he had freely offered it or what kind of deal he had sealed himself into. Would this just be a one-time thing? Would this be the only time with fooling around? Would there be more next time or nothing at all? These were questions he should have asked before falling victim to the kiss that was stealing his breath. Maybe later, when everything was all said and done he would think to ask some questions that were slowly being pushed out of his mind to make room for the pleasure that a hand at his fly could bring.

Bane paused, growing still beneath the mortal atop him. For all the burying of his thoughts that Zaizen was doing, several still leaked over, or perhaps it was the hesitation in each action that prompted the usually brash and barbaric vampire to start using his mind in more ways than he was sure would be appreciated. "Nn," he as much moaned as sighed, hands stilling where they were as he struggled against the overwhelming desire to push full speed ahead. How damn hard was it to get passed these barriers, he wildly wondered with the passing of each second that left him bordering on losing control and just tearing into the throat his fangs ached to slip into.

"Enough." He muttered into the mouth he pulled away from, reluctant to leave the lips behind that tempted him but doing so nonetheless when strong hands shifted seeking out Zaizen's waist to heft him gently up and over. He didn't like using the mental powers his sire had made sure to cultivate in both her childer, preferring using brawn over brain power as he could see results when he put himself to work. Anything having to do with the realm of psychic abilities always seemed iffy to him, but in that moment when he so rudely peaked in on his chosen's thoughts he had to admit maybe it had its uses. "That's enough."

He was lying. It was not anywhere near being enough, but still he was careful in how he moved his human blanket from atop him, making sure not to jar the injured wrist while turning and tucking the smaller man into the curve of his body. He didn't get it. He didn't know what he was doing wrong in his attempts to get Zaizen to lower his guards and be more comfortable with him, but he knew that no matter how much the guy tried to force himself right now he only seemed to keep running into resistance and uncertainty, both of which while understandable wasn't doing anything to awaken the kind of sensations or mood that would make this a memorable moment for the human. And he was back to worrying about shit vampires, heartless and soulless as they were supposed to be, shouldn't be worrying over. Disgusted with himself, Bane reached for the wrist he had so treated with such little care, bring it to his mouth not for another bite as he was sure his chosen probably expected but for first one feathery lave of tongue and then another.

Maybe, he should just give up on this one and take the witch up on his offer? Bane frowned inwardly as he tended the tiny wounds, taking great care to properly pamper that wrist as he pondered. Certainly, Gakuto would be easy to push around and manipulate-something he didn't want in his feeder--, but he, at least, would dive right in and welcome his attention, which would make for him feeling a little less like the monster he felt like right now.

Zaizen predictably stiffened at the mouth going for his wrist once more but then relaxed when it was a soft kiss that met his skin and not a rough bite. How did they end up back in a position that was similar to the one of minutes earlier? Apparently he was right and Bane really did want to stay true to Saeki and decided to only use the sharp-tongued DJ for food and nothing more. This position he was chosen for was damn confusing. There seemed to be a lot of rules that weren’t readily available for the learning until you met them head on and learned the hard way. He really hated not being perfect at something, including this.

“Since we’re back to square one, you might as well skip the tenderness and just bite. I’m ready for the pain that will come this time,” he wasn’t going to beg for the pleasure or anything else that could have come with the way they were slowly starting to move toward. Zaizen knew begging didn’t become him and depending on Bane’s mood, it could even backfire against him. Instead, he would just resign himself to the fate he had opened the door on that evening and willingly go along with the vampire’s whims.

"We're not at any square at all." He said against the wrist his tongue laved over, cleaning away each and every little drop and stream of blood from the freshly drained to the already drying. When he was done, Bane threaded his fingers within Zaizen's fitting palm to palm to hold that hand, just as he held the mortal tucked into him. He cringed mentally, knowing that if he tried to ease any of the worries now running rampant through that busy mind then Zaizen would know he had trespassed within his thoughts and was still, even then, lingering. "Close your eyes and go to sleep. I won't bite you while you're unaware."

Frustration didn't even come close to describing how he felt right then, but it was close enough. How the hell did he get himself so embroiled with the well-being of a mortal that it went against his own needs to such a point that he was, quite simply, giving up?

"Sleep, and when you awaken you'll find the cheesecake cut and prepared for you. Make sure to eat to replenish your energy and the blood that I stole." Not that it had been much, but he still wanted the human to tend to that loss as best he could. He certainly wouldn't be there to see to it himself as it was finally getting through to Bane that whatever he had been searching for and hoping to find within this human, he wasn't going to find it. Hell, he wasn't even sure he knew exactly what that was himself, but he knew it wasn't just for food as the brat seemed to think. If that were the case then he would have already taken him up on that offer to get it over with.

Zaizen stared dumbly at his knees and then at Bane’s and then back to his, lightly comparing and contrasting them for no reason other than it was something he understood and could handle. He had no idea how to handle a vampire which was increasingly obvious now that he was being discarded after barely even being used. Was he not to taste? Maybe he just wasn’t as much fun as Bane had thought he would be and decided to end it all. He hated the feeling, but he was simply dejected, put out, and left cold.

“At least there’s cheesecake as the consolation prize. You don’t have to do anything other than put it in the fridge. I can manage the cutting and serving myself later when I go for a piece.” He didn’t need the vampire feeling sorry for him or pampering him, damn it, no matter how nice it was to be held by someone thinking about his care.

"Pity is least of the emotions I feel for you right now." Bane snapped more than a little annoyed by the thoughts and emotions dwelling behind the green eyes he could no longer see. "And it isn't that you don't taste good, because you do. I knew you would from the moment I first caught your scent, but I'm at a loss as to how to ease your worries, and if you say one word to illustrate how incompetent I've been with this whole thing after having just admitted it, I may have to break my promise and bite you anyway."

The latter of that statement was a poor attempt at jesting and adding a little humor to a moment in which all his failures seemed to come to light, which once more went to show how much of a bumbling idiot he'd been this whole time. "I should have just stuck to the tried and true, and screwed with your thoughts, taken what I needed, and left you totally unaware of the fact that you'd been fed from." In fact, he should probably just start altering Zaizen's memories and making so the man would forget he was a vampire altogether. He could easily leave the knowledge he had dropped by and make it so that all he remembered was the cake being dropped off and Bane's departure. Well on his way to think this was the best option all around, Bane shifted to get more comfortable while he waited for sleep to overtake the human. He would wait, no matter how long it took.

"To be honest, I don't know why I didn't. Certainly, it seems like the best course of action for my kind as we're nothing but monsters in the minds of most humans anyway." Granted, he was a monster and Zaizen didn't know just how much of one with how easily he'd been taking witches out in secret and also massacring his own kind at Saeki's bidding, and all so his lover could gain control of the territory he wanted to claim as his own.

Zaizen said nothing.

He was known to be quiet when he was giving off his air of disinterest with just a random insult he viewed as truths spoken but this time he was completely quiet without even a witty remark or comment about Bane to give. He still wasn’t sure what had been expected of him or how he had acted wrongly. He had believed there wasn’t any true chemistry between them even if he had felt the beginnings of something physical on his side but had still acted cautiously since it would have been weird to just jump in and molest the vampire without thought. He needed to know his partner was into it as well and if Bane really wanted him, a little more touching would have gained them both a reaction they would have been pleased with. Apparently he moved too slowly for a vampire that likely had multiple life times’ worth of experience.

With a sigh, Zaizen shifted his arm so the bitten wrist rested on his leg and he could view the marks that were now clean. Still he said nothing, not even correcting the statement about vampires being monsters. He knew they could be but that wasn’t why he let Bane continue to think he believed that. It just took too much work to convince the man he continued to snuggle against that he wasn’t lying when he thought that Bane wasn’t such a terrible guy. This particular vampire walked him home to make sure he was safe-even if it wasn’t wanted-, left him gifts of sweet music captured in tiny boxes-even if they were left by sneaking into his home while he slept-, and took the time to make sure everything was to his liking for a feeding that had to have been done millions of times without such concern.

He knew Bane was reading his mind now that he had answered questions that weren’t spoken aloud so if he caught those thoughts, Zaizen didn’t mind the privacy violation. They likely wouldn’t be believed in that form either but at least they were heard and saved him the effort of forming words.

"Fuck, you're killing me, Hikaru." He moaned almost helpless against the wealth of thoughts he was buried within. "Maybe I don't want you like I want Saeki, or how you possibly want your Kenya… but," he found himself unable to resist the urge to shift and curl around the human as much as their positions would allow. One arm snaked over a slender waist curling over Zaizen to hold him close as his head dipped, nose seeking out a curve of shoulder to nuzzle over as he spoke. "I need to feel your hands on me, need your scent surrounding me, your voice ringing in my ears, need to hear your heartbeat even as I feel it pulsating beneath my tongue."

He closed his eyes tightly and took a deep breath, savoring the unique scent of his feeder even if he had no need of the air he forced into his lungs with the action. "I want to touch you, watch your body leap to life beneath my fingertips, watch your eyes haze with pleasure, and then drown in yours and mine when you reach the pinnacle as I'd sink my fangs into your skin right then when you'd be so far gone with it that you wouldn't feel the slight invasion, until your mind and body was hit with a whole new kind of euphoria. And it's never been just about your blood, though I can't deny I want it as much as I need it. You wouldn't have been just food."

Honestly, he didn't know what else he could say to ease all the thoughts and worries he had picked up from the human, but found himself rambling on without a clue as to when he would shut his trap as shutting up seemed like the wisest thing to do, instead of running his mouth off. "If it was just food I wanted, I could get it at the club from a dozen different patrons or from a blood bank. Instead, I trusted you with what I am. Trusted you with my secret, and although what could have been between us might not be what I have with Saeki, or what you long for with your roommate and best friend, it would have been something totally different and unique to us and would have been ours."

“I’m not even touching on the Kenya argument anymore. Takes too much energy to convince someone so set in their beliefs no matter how wrong they are,” Zaizen was getting tired not only in general given the hour and the emotional rollercoaster he’d been on but defending his friendship with Kenya. They were simply friends! Did it matter if one of them found the other sexy in all his wildness when he would never let that thought be known? Nothing would come of it being out in the open since Kenya was straight and just because the brunette found him sexy didn’t mean it went any deeper than that and a friendship needed ruining over.

“There are an awful lot of ‘would have been’ in your speech there, vampire,” he gave Bane his label rather than his name as a sort of test to see how it sounded and to show that he did still remember what sort of creature he was pressed against and that he was still fine with it, like Bane had so correctly assumed by trusting him with the secret. “Considering how much past tense you have used, I’m taking it that you have changed your mind about me and everything and you will take my memories when you leave. Not like I can stop you.” He didn’t want his memories stolen away though if they were, he wouldn’t be left with trying to fill in all those questions of what could have been with them. It was a weird arrangement but he was still too curious to have passed it by, not that he was given the choice anymore.

"As set in that belief as you and your bratty loud-mouth were about Saeki and I when you first came to the club." He smugly replied as he shifted the slender body snuggly fitted to his, urging the human to turn his back to him. It was so much easier to cuddle this way, he mused knowing he wouldn't openly admit to having a liking for such things, even though he knew of at least one blue-eyed imp that knew for a fact that he did. Once he had Zaizen situated just as he wanted him, he slung a long arm over his waist to curl him close until the man fit into the curve of his body almost as if he had been created for just that. He almost laughed at himself as the fanciful thought winged its way through his mind knowing that he really only ever thought one person belonged locked in his embrace with nowhere to escape, and that man wasn't Zaizen Hikaru but a blue-eyed imp that would laugh himself silly, if he knew how he had bungled up this night.

However, that didn't mean having Zaizen snuggled against him wasn't nice and that he couldn't see it happening again, because it was and he could. That is, if he managed to get passed the stumbling blocks that had ruined this night. "And why would you want to keep memories of tonight? I would think you'd want to have them gone so they wouldn't haunt you." He asked curiously, hoping that the continued talk would ease Zaizen into relaxing fully and almost forgetting for a moment that the man holding him close wasn't a monster of the nightmarish kind mothers used to frighten their children into bed early and discourage their running around at night.

“We’re still right. You’re an ogre obsessed with a priss,” argued back, not giving up the point to Bane to even as the vampire moved them around without even asking if that was okay. But maybe the jerk read his mind again and knew it would be fine with the human that was nearly dizzy with sorting everything out that had happened that night and didn’t mind the cuddling. He probably should have given the creature he now had his back to and the man in general that had become a thorn in his side since they met but Zaizen wasn’t concerned about it. Like he had thought earlier, there was something comforting about the vampire that would always be an ogre to him no matter how unsettling the thought of the ogre being kind and watching out for him was.

Why did he want to keep the memories of this screwed up night? Zaizen thought on that when the question hit his ears, making him think over his words that had come out so easily seconds before. “It shows I’ve been right all along and not losing my mind. There’s something more than humans out there and the hints I’ve had but reasoned away one way or another since I was little have been validated.” He liked being right and knowing he had many years left with a functioning and brilliant mind, was there anything wrong with that? Of course, while that was a real answer, there was another reason and just maybe the jerk deserved it to possibly have him behaving sometime in the future.

Yeah right.

“I also have proof that you do have a kind bone in your body and it extends to me even if for a twisted reason of protecting your investment in my blood.”

"And I'm still right in regards to you and the loud-mouth." He answered with a grin. Bane stealthily and oh-so cautiously let his hand fall to rest lightly against Zaizen's stomach as it naturally would have done were he no more than a mortal man spending a bit of quality time with a partner. "Also, sanity is often overrated, and normally only crazy people claim to be completely sane." He found it almost laughable that his little mortal had been worrying over losing his mind over believing in the unbelievable when humans had been doing so from the beginning of time from the blind faith they displayed in their gods to their belief in the super natural whether those creatures were vampires, witches, and werewolves or some other sort of entity.

Fingers shifted as he talked, lightly stroking over the flat plain beneath them in an absent minded way he hoped wouldn't be noted so much as accepted and perhaps enjoyed as he sought to lure Zaizen further and further into being relaxed and completely comfortable with him. "As for my kindness, you're right but only in one regard; this illusion of tenderness of gentleness from me always comes with ulterior motives and strings attached but whether or not those strings are the ones you believe they are is entirely debatable."

All the talk of insanity was making him truly feel as such and the conversation just wasn’t holding as much appeal as it should given the fact he would be arguing points with a vampire. Zaizen instead let himself be lulled into serenity with that hand gently holding him in place like a lover and not someone using their strength to hold him down in a threatening way. It wasn’t smart of him, he knew it and always would warn himself to stay alert around Bane and not to trust him, especially after that confession, but the brunette couldn’t help himself. It was the late hour, he convinced himself a second later when he realized how comfortable he still was even with those words.

“Since I haven’t asked for the kindness and gentleness and you’re giving it freely, I don’t think that’s fair but I’m sure you don’t play by any rules but your own and they say this is fair. So how about you just go ahead and leave with the kindness and ulterior motives instead or you can just tell me what they are and we can decide how to proceed from there.” He was tired, yes, and maybe even lacking some of his usual bite and awareness but Zaizen thought himself still ready for anything the vampire did next.

"Why," Bane asked as he leaned forward to nestle his chin along the curve of Zaizen's shoulder. "Are you people always in such a hurry to get rid of me?" he asked as if he didn't already know the answer, puzzlement feigned as it was, coloring each word. He was slowly but surely working his way toward lulling the human into a blind state of trust, which he fully intended to take advantage of. That he started to nuzzle his chin over that shoulder stealthily using the motion to fool his human into believing he was either being playful or incredibly touchy didn't matter, since it brought him one step closer toward his goal.

"First Gakuto, then Hiyoshi, and now you." He mourned falsely, adding just the right note of sadness that it could have been believable if the recipient of such words didn't know him at all.

“Yeah, I can feel the pain it brings you,” Zaizen drawled with sarcasm as the arm he had been leaning on snaked free to reach around and push lightly at the vampire’s head. It wasn’t a hard push designed to get him the hell away or hurt him but one to know that he wasn’t really believed and he was getting close to a line the human was thinking about drawing. He wasn’t sure what he wanted out of Bane or what was wanted from him but he had a feeling he was close to finding out with the way the nuzzling was going.

“Don’t you know it’s in poor taste to mention past lovers or donors to the current one while in his bed trying for a move?” Still the sleepiness crept on but Zaizen felt it was a good retort all the same even if it wasn’t at his usual excellent standards in sparring. Then again, it was hard to spar properly with a comfortable pillow under your head and someone pressed to your back.

"I'll have you know neither of those two were my past lover or donor." Bane stated aghast by the suggestion. Gakuto was just too damn small. He would feel like he was walking on eggshells the whole time, always afraid of breaking his pet if he were to take him to his bed as he did have a fondness for playing roughly and it was only the odd moment that saw any sort of tender being displayed to his lovers.

"I'm hurt you think I would do something as crass as that." He pouted for both the accusation and the way Zaizen pushed at his head. He decided to get even by resettling his chin on Zaizen's shoulder but this time much closer to the curve where neck and shoulder met, so the breathy drawl of each word came closer to whispering over an earring laced ear.

“And I’ll have you know that I really don’t care since we pretty much established earlier you don’t want me for the lover aspect and possibly even the blood donor,” Zaizen yawned at the end of his reply but didn’t try to stifle or hide it. It was late, he had his blood sucked-as little as it was-and learning so much that altered things you were taught all your life took a lot out of a man. The path Bane was now walking, however, was enough to wake a man back up in more ways than one.

“Teasing others really does get you off, huh? And don’t blame me when you burn your mouth on the earrings, lover boy,” he may have felt a teeny tiny bit bad for being the cause of the burned hands earlier even if he didn’t make Bane touch the silver but that didn’t mean he was budging on his decision to continue being himself and dressing as he pleased. Although burning vampire lips on his ear was an extremely unpleasant thought that was close to changing his mind and killing off the start of the erection he was getting from the closeness and touching.

Bane smirked as he slid those earrings a look from the corner of his eye. His gaze was quickly diverted, however. Soon, it strayed to the pulsing beat of Zaizen's heart as blood pumped through the vein his mouth found right then. So quickly did it happen-his answer and then the bite that followed that saw his fangs dipping deep into warm flesh. "Which leaves me questioning whether or not you're disappointed by that, Hikaru? Do you want me for your lover, and it isn't your earrings my mouth will be touching…" as far as warnings went it sucked just as it was surely meant to do, since he didn't really want the mortal having any clues to lead him toward what was going to take place within seconds of his final words leaving his mouth.

He closed his eyes on the wave of bliss that erupted washing through his system with the first drought of warm crimson welling to spill over his tongue, moaned huskily against that neck, and drew Zaizen that much closer to him offering with the subtle motion as much security and peace of mind that he could considering he was a vampire that was intent on feasting fully upon the person he was stealing blood from without prior warning, especially since he had told his human he wouldn't take from him while he was unaware. Except, Bane would later swear those words were only a promise not to bite him while he slept and Zaizen wasn't asleep just yet, he assured himself drinking deeply without remorse.

“Why would-” Zaizen found his words cut short with a sharp in-take of breath when fangs took to his neck. Deep green eyes went wide before flickering to half-lidded when the truth sunk in that Bane had lured him into a trap and got what he wanted-the blood. Although it had been freely offered before, they had their unusual argument over the method in which it was to be done and everything reached a halt. Now, Bane had snuck in to grab it. In a way, Zaizen was thankful. There seemed to be less stress and less thinking involved in this method and while it did still hurt, he could feel a sensation forming as each drop of his life blood was taken. Was it a mind trick, the pressure of the mouth, or the hand that had been toying at his skin that distracted the human enough to ignore the pain and enjoy the bite?

Zaizen wanted answers but couldn’t bring himself to ask them right then and there and hoped he would still remember them when the feeding was over. Hell, he hoped he was still awake when it was over. If he was being cynical, he hoped he would still be alive when it was over.

"Because that sounded very much like a complaint," he murmured as he pulled away. His gaze, heavy lidded and hazed with desire spawned by the heat of Zaizen's pleasure that he tasted within the crimson flow now streaming over lightly tanned skin and by that body fitted next to his, followed each thin stream as it flowed from the wound. Bane drew great pleasure from the sight. Almost as much pleasure as he drew from raking blunt nails along the path he took in searching out the erection the mortal had thought dying from unpleasant thoughts. He growled over the barrier of clothing, before memory returned and reminded him that Zaizen had taken care of the button and zip earlier leaving his hand free to brush aside the material and snake inside, so long fingers could brush over the budding hardness, and then engulf it in a firm grasp.

"If it was," he said as he gave that slight erection a firm tug with a fisted pump of his hand. "Then tell me to touch you… No, demand it!" he ordered mouth returning to that neck to hungrily close over the wound that still bled for him, leaving a delightful patchwork of red lacing Zaizen's neck for him to admire. Bane wouldn't waste a single drop, however, as later would see him lazily but with much relish licking up every last drop as he tended to the mortal carefully.

Zaizen was in a daze when that mouth released his neck which left him with a sense of loss and yearning for more. He hated himself for how easily swayed he was after all of that hesitation earlier. In fact, why had he hesitated again? Was it simply because it was Bane that he came up with all of those excuses? He wasn’t loose but he wasn’t chaste either so concern over fooling around seemed odd now that he thought about it. While thinking on that, Bane had moved his hand down his body to find his erection which was a sure fire way to pull Zaizen out of his curiosity and back to being in the moment.

He had a moment of confliction as he realized there were trails of blood running down his neck that would travel who knew how far-so long as it wasn’t his bed he lamely worried-and a need for more of that touching. Ignoring the blood became something quite easy once Bane returned to his neck and that tug to his cock came along. He hated that order to well, order, but still Zaizen considered the options the best he could in his hazy state before giving a reply. “Touch me, Kurobane!” Kenya wasn’t home yet, and while it wasn’t really any of his business, Zaizen figured he could fool around with his jackass boss a little before it became a known subject.

Bane smirked over the new line of thoughts wandering through his chosen's mind even as he did as ordered. He touched again and again, his hands busy with anointing Zaizen's flesh with the feel of them and of him, until he was sure his skin would remember every last sensation for days to come. He wanted this one to remember, want those thoughts to sneak in when he least expected it making him crave his bite again as much as he craved the caressing hands that would learn each inch of his skin this night, because while Bane had no intentions of engaging in sex with his feisty little feeder right then he wasn't going to write it off for the future. And as illogical as most others would consider his thought process, he assured himself that what he did right then with hungrily feasting on that blood while he pumped Zaizen's length with a fisted hand, encouraging him to tumble headfirst into the pleasure of his release it was only foreplay and not the sex that some day might happen between them.

Yes, he thought as he allowed himself to drown in the sweet bliss hazing his mind, his mouth seeking to capture each drop of blood that he could. He would touch, and then later when his chosen lay depleted and worn from the sharing of his blood and the climax he would achieve Bane would tend to the mortal, making sure to prepare a meal for him to consume to replace what was lost. Perhaps, he would even go so far as to linger until he bathed and slept, before he returned home sated and properly fed at last.
