Paris Hilton Parodies Populate Online

Paris in Jail: The Music Video": http://www.omovies.com

Nearly six million people have watched this video on YouTube. The video, which was directed by Allan Murray and Sean Haines and can be found at their Web site, features a Hilton lookalike singing about her difficulties to a reggae rip-off of Modest Mouse's "Float On." The production value is very good for a YouTube video and its popularity reflects the thirst for parody of the hotel heiress. But it's only mildly funny. Two Tinkerbells.

"Shawskank Redemption": http://www.jibjab.com/view/159403
This spoof, is very crude and should be considered R-rated. The animated video, as the title suggests, plays off of the film "Shawshank Redemption." The conceit is perfect, but the lowbrow humor wastes the opportunity. Two and a half Tinkerbells.

Conan O'Brien: http://tinyurl.com/2e6po3
One of the most popular Paris parodies on YouTube is this clip from NBC's "Late Night with Conan O'Brien". When the talk-show host announces that Hilton is in jail, the audience applauds enthusiastically for over a minute while O'Brien has his shoes shined. It's a spot-on reflection on the power of schadenfreude. Four Tinkerbells.

"Paris Hilton Gets Pumped": http://www.funnyordie.com/videos/4948

The video shows Hilton using her time in prison to hit the weights. A thin blonde gradually becomes extremely muscled while Hilton's catch phrase "that's hot" plays over and over. Three Tinkerbells.

Tommy Chong's Take: http://tinyurl.com/3a3za6
An interview with Tommy Chong by MSNBC's Contessa Brewer on the day Hilton was ordered back to jail was posted on YouTube. While Brewer defends the jailing of Hilton, Chong asks of the media circus: "Refresh me. Who did she murder, by the way?" Five Tinkerbells.
