Some Positive news....finally!!!
Soooooo........yeah.......I've got some good news...finally...it's been a while...I know!
So, I've been having all these health problems, and feeling really depressed because I felt like I was literally dying...bleeding to death...it's been awful...
Well, I was just accepted into a Medical Research Study program at Wayne State University, yesterday. I've been enrolled into a 30 week study course, where they take my hormone levels, blood sugar levels, hemaglobin, liver & renal (kidneys) enzyme levels. I did this yesterday, and now they've put me on 10 days of Provera...it's progesterone, which will stop the bleeding. Then we'll wait for a month, and I'll take the 10 days of Provera again, so it will induce a "false" period, and then they are going to do more tests. They will take ultrasounds of my ovaries & uterus, give me my "yearly exam", and also shoot iodine into my fallopian tubes to make sure they're not blocked. They will also test Jeremy's sperm count. After that, if there are no problems, they're going to put me on a combination of Clomid (a fertility drug) and Metformin (a Glucophage...insulin balancing drug). They're going to monitor me then every week to watch how I respond to the drug therapy. So, their main goal is to see if I'll be able to concieve using the help from these drugs....which is cool, because we're wanting that anyway. The really sweet thing is...I'm getting all of this help for free, probably getting preggo, and LOTSA help for free....and then at the end of the 30 weeks, I get paid for my participation! It's TOTALLY a God thing, and I know that's like SO crazy to hear me say that...but it's the truth. I'm going to keep this journal updated with all the info. Oh yeah....just so you can get a visual of what I'm dealing with....
