Here's to knowledge
Today I learned a new word; Axiomatic.
adjective - pertaining to or the nature of an axiom; self-evident; obvious.
As in, 'It is axiomatic that the weather is nice today.' or 'it is axiomatic that you are a moron.'
At the moment I'm reading Orwell's Victory (wherein I discovered this new word) and waiting for delivery of the latter.
I'd pre-ordered Mortality a few weeks ago, and that's apparently been despatched now too. I do like buying books from Amazon because they are generally cheaper than book shops, but the delivery is slow for something which should essentially be popped in a padded box and posted the same day. I also miss the smell of book shops. I think that's part of why they hike the prices up though, the overall enjoyable sensory experience!
I used to love Peak Books (now Cafe Nero) with the little coffee shop bit at the front. Walking in there was lovely, the delicious smells of fresh coffee and books.
Not sure if excited to read Mortality or not, it being his absolute final book. It will make me sad, but I can't not read it.
