This past Thursday I, for the first time in my college career, skipped a whole day of classes. This was because I left Wednesday night to fly to Orlando, Florida with the Georgetown Ballroom Dance Team. That was because we'd been invited by Tony Dovolani, one of the professional dancers on "Dancing With the Stars" to perform with him in the Christmas Special that was to be taped as part of the Disneyworld Christmas Day Parade, to be aired Christmas morning on ABC. Which means I got to spend two days in a Disneyworld Resort, dancing my feet off for somewhere around 15 hours AND getting to see all the stars and professionals from "Dancing With the Stars" (Drew Lachey, Helio Castanetta, Sabrina the Cheetah girl, etc.). Our team even took a picture with Joey Fatone (of N*Sync fame, for all those people old enough to remember them. ;-) ). And I got a personal picture with Tony Dovolani, who for those of you who don't know, is the world Latin Champion and INCREDIBLY nice in addition to being one of the most amazing dancers ever. It was an AWESOME weekend. We even managed to fit in one free ride, the "Jungle Cruise", between morning rehearsal and the actual taping on Friday morning. And each dancer got two free tickets to Disneyworld good for four months. I know where I'm going for spring break. ;-) (BTW, we had to wake up at 3:30am on Friday to get to Disneyworld by 5am to start rehearsal at 6am. But we were performing in front of Cinderella's Castle---coolness, right???)
I am sooooooooooooo excited for Christmas morning now. Don't forget to watch!!! (I'm behind the platform Mickey and Minnie are dancing on and slightly to the right. ;-) )
