Eugene people:
What happened to taking a year off to teach English in Korea? Because I've applied for a job with Footprints Recruiting (has anyone heard of them? There are other programs, but this is just the first one I clicked on---are they good? bad? sketchy? nice?) and they've granted me an interview. So if I don't get a job offer, that's what I'm going to do for a year.
Is anyone in this with me? Because I'm seriously considering it. I really like Korea: the food, the language, the dramas/movies (heeheehee), the fashion, etc. I've wanted to learn Korean for a long time, and now that I've finally started, I want to continue with it. Plus this job would pay about $20/hr, roundtrip airfare included, and a possible 1-month salary bonus at the end of it. And I would only have to work 30 hrs/wk, so I'd still have time to take weekend trips to China to see my relatives and/or take nighttime classes to improve my Mandarin and Korean.
So let me know if anyone is interested in doing this with me. I'm not afraid of going alone, but it'd be cool to do it with someone.
Disclaimer: I have applied to what could quite possibly be my dream job. The chances of me even getting an interview, much less getting hired, are LITERALLY one in seven million. But just in case, if I get it, all bets are off.
