my thoughts of this world
hmm...ive been thinking lately.....
Do you know how the Romans and the Greeks made up gods to provide anwsers to things in nature that they couldnt explain? Like having a god for lightning and so on and so on. Perhaps then this whole god thing has just evolved some. We have a god for things we cannot explain. For example, if something happens to you and you cant explain it you say god did it. Or another example how was the world created? We didnt know so we said god made it....or even heaven and hell we dont know what happens after we die so we say a god made a place for us to be when we die. its all very cosmological(not make-up or lipgloss) We havent really changed in all these years. A god is simply a way for us to comprehend why things happen in the natural world that we havent found an explanation for. and take prayer..people say prayer works. Well there is also something called a self fulfilling prophecy. Thats when you believe something will happen so much that you actually do it. For example, you are a participant in an scientific study. You recieve the placebo instead of the real thing, but you still get better because you believe you did get the pill and you make yourself get better. I think prayer is like that. Maybe im just a crazy cranky agnostic on the verge of being atheist. What do you guys think?
